First of all, two moderators replied and said it was fine. Therefore, it couldn't of broke any rules. So basically it's been removed because a certain someone hasn't liked it. There was numerous warnings, one in the title and two in the thread itself, well before you even seen the jokes.

So, has my thread been removed, not because it broke the rules, but because someone was offended, even when warned?

it was quite clear that the thread was going to have some "jokes" in there that may not have been to everyoens tastes, but in the same way, my therad about jade goody having cancer in the first place was full of views about her deserving it or not, even when i only posted it to see if people agreed with her making money from selling her story or not, a totaly different kettle of potatoes

 

i take it the modship is not a demoracy then and only upto the individual mod who finds it at the time?

so 99 of the mods might find no offence but one might and, based on that offence, can delete the thread and ban everyone who posted in it and everything without any explanation what-so-ever?

Its a tricky one to answer chaps, I will be honest with you and tell you that we are discussing whether this thread should have been removed in the Mods room.

Unfortunately putting "Do not read if offended" in a thread title does not give you poetic licence to put whatever you want in there.....

that said, I have lost close family members to cancer and I wasnt offended by the thread, but thats just me and I can see how some members/Mods could have been quite upset by some of the jokes and comments.

I can't comment any further really as I was not the one who removed it but if im honest I can understand why it was.

There are guidelines we all follow dojj so we are as equal and fair as we can be when dealing with something, though we aren't robots, we wont make the same decision as another moderator every single time, especially in cases like this.

With a thread of such questionable taste as this, it would always be a difficult decision to make. It was discussed at length in the moderators room and even we couldn't all agree. If we had all said it's ok to stay then I dont see the problem, but In the end the moderator who removed it made a decision based on their opinion of the thread, which of course was different to other moderators.
It was a very tricky one to call really. As far as I can see, no rules were clearly broken, bent maybe, in the thread but surely you aren't surprised it has gone? It was in poor taste, and was always going to split opinion and be controversial!

Furthermore, the moderators who replied didnt say it would or should be left in, or even that they liked it, they said they would leave it unless another moderator disagrees.

 

So basically the mod who removed it gets to choose over all the other mods? Not even a democracy in the Mod room

Jade was tested 3 years prior to her diagnosis for cancer. The cancer was there then, and the doctors missed it. Only when she began to get more prominent symptoms did she go again.

She (like many people) trusted her doctor.

Oh and....a mother is not loosing her kids...her kids are loosing their mother.

 

So when the last positive test came in and she decided to fly to India to be on BB to try and salvage her career. Rather than get the results That's not the actions of a retard?

Her test results were revealed to her in india yes...she didnt know it was a positive test until she got the results by which time she was in india.

She may have though that the test was going to come back negative and decided to carry on as normal until told otherwise.

The difference is people in the real world don't seek publicity for their condition just to keep themselves in the news

 

At the end of the day she is dying of cancer and she didnt even get to be 30, no matter what she had done in the past her children will now suffer. Maybe she has donated to a cancer charity since being diagnosed with it. not a nice subject no matter who is involved. if it was myself i couldnt even imagine what would be going through my mind????

 

i don't think anyone is questioning that her kids will suffer, on the contrary, most people think that her kids will benifit from not having her in their lives (as a person though not as a mother) as she seems to be such an epicentre of stupidity

then again, i have no idea myself if she is a good mother or not, i'm only going on what has been portrayed on the telly and in the papers, so if you think some of her antics are the sort that good mothers get up to that's your call
