If a 4x4 sapphire has a leather interior should the arm rest above the handbrake, the panels on the door trim and the bits surrounding the edges of the rear seats be trimmed in leather or cloth?

Anyone got any interior pics, esp of the door cards?

As far as i am aware it should all be leather ,
door panels are hard to come by in leather trim but the seats are fairly easy to get hold of. these pics are the best i have at the moment

Should all be leather m8,if factory fitted then dash should be black too.

 

@Skrats: how come you have the early doorcards but the facelifted dash?
You retrofitted the leather?

 

have no idea mate ..
It is a L plate and as far as registration doc states its one of the last ones of the line ( as far as i am aware, and i no there is M plates but they were held back by the dealers )
The history shows no change and the hpi is 100% clear , so unless the factory threw it together with the parts they has i have no idea ,, any help on this matter would be appriciated??

 

Knowing Ford they probably had some early doorcards left over and that may be why you have early doorcards but facelifted dash.

 

What's the difference in the late doorcards.

 

The armrest is very different and I "think" some of the mounting holes are on a slightly different place.
@Skrat: Is the locking for the Centrol locking the handle (ie, do you push it to lock from the inside?) or is there an additional switch that operates the CL?

Sure its not a change for the uk as i no the british got different trim in quite a few rs marques ( ie, escort rst hade a different recaro interior and a few extra trim bits

 

someone please tell me they have the same interior as me in a late saph ,, even though i checked the history and all that i now think theres summut not right with my car ??

 

My facelift saph (k reg) is the same leather as you m8.

I have been looking at other pictures of late saphs and all the ones with cloth interior seem to have this panel in the door cards but none of the leather ones??
Also how different is the arm rest !!!

 

Late spec 4x4 mostly had the leather fitted but some cars 92-93 had dark cloth fitted with the same style door cards as Remko GT.
I have a set of 92 spec cloth door cards. Will sort the pic out shortly.

Tbh all the leather doorcards ive seen are like ours m8,armrests too.

 

Thank god for that ,, i was worried id bought ringer or something then ,, i paid good money for mine so would of been peed of if it were not right ,,,

As KSA says, all leather doorcards are the same as the early dark cloth but with the leather pad.

Wasn't there also a black cloth interior for facelift saphs the police used with recaro stitched in red ?

 

I dont know sorry, i have only seen - light grey cloth, dark grey cloth, leather and late spec cloth. Im sure someone will know something about the black cloth you mentioned.

the only leather in the door cards is the pad your arm leans on mate

hello mate you have the later door cards fitted to yours dont worry the difference between later leather door cards and early ones is the speaker grille , the early ones have flat and old skool looking speaker grills and early ones have nice grills that stick out

Are these the seats you talking about KSA? Shell for sale on ebay with interior. He says the seats are black (late type fleecy material). Never seen them before.

Thats the ones mart 99% sure they were only fitted to ex police cars.

 

The late spec door cards (purply trim) were only fitted to cloth specced cars and the leather trim cars had the same door panels right from early 89 (when leather became an option on the Sapphire Cosworth) through until end of production. The black trim as per the shell selling on eBay were soley for Police Cosworths only.

 

Oh the perforated padded bit next to your arm, I see what you mean, that's leather.
