Default Been asked before 1k for Ring trip

Sorry i know it has been asked before, but the 1k figure that is banded about how has that number come about and how many people is this figure based on? approx how many laps of the ring etc,

Need to have some idea as i am trying to convince my mate to take his cossie,

Also if you book now and need to cancel is it easy enough to sell your spot as it were with out losing to much?

And lastly i have met very people of here so what convoys are going and who would it be possible to join in with and be made to feel
welcome............ any takers honestly i'm not a weirdo

cheers mike

My own personal Costings for Nicole and I:
    Total: Ł1170

    Additional expenses:
Total Outlay for us both to drive the ring: Ł1485.00

Realistically, when i returned i had only used 350 of fuel and did 21 laps, but i spent more than budgeted on Go Karting and souveniers, so its still a good guide. As for convoys etc.. see This topic:

Wouldnt it be cheaper to get the ferry, i was talking to someone on here who took the ferry last year and said he spent a total of Ł650 that was for everything

Depends where you live i guess as to wether there will be a fuel saving. The ferry isnt much cheaper to cross, and you have to Endure 15Hrs of rough seas if your unlucky.

I think I did it on Ł600 the first time we went, but I was a puff and did nowhere near 20 laps as I had massive cossie paranoia being so far from home

I'm planning to do it on about Ł800 fella. I'll hopefully be driving a car with a mildy tuned rst lump by then.

Plus it's about a tenner of fuel from here to Hull for the ferry

Stu's costs were based on 3 nights there, this time we are staying for 5 instead, so its going to be dearer for him this time than last time.

Fcuk it, why am I being tight? Ł1k is a small price to pay for the experience of a lifetime, so whatever it costs, I'm in.

if you have a car with 4 people in it the cost wil be alot lower as the only cost that you cant change is the food and beer

300 quid on fuel split 4 ways, rooms split 4 ways ect

I might put a DVD player in mine as well but the misses reckons my driving makes her feel sick and the bloody exhaust with the silencer out gives her a headache

Simple... for some people, being a car enthusiast is about DRIVING CARS.

stu as much as i agree the drive there and the drive back can be split, so not only do you save cash,,,,,,, you also increase saftey too

now say for example one of the drivers has a dodgy sausage, he feels sick ect, dont think a 2 hour drive at 130 is a good idea do you

also means more people can come too making it much more of a fun time too

just my opinion as not everyone can do the ring experience and so this would help them out as well as save some cash

as much as i find driving fun i find beer more fun so if i drive there i can get totally pissed and then the co driver can carry on the driving on the way back

next topic will be about green house gasses and saving whales blah blah

      Good guideline Stu.

would save myself a few pennies over that, not needing hotel at folkestone and fuel from blackpool area etc but helps to make up my mind.

will be putting my name down for a bit of that!

dont forget thats a price for 2 people too there

i recon i can do it on 800ish just due to not doing as many laps and havng euro cover on my policy already

the drive to dover will be cheeper too

but i wouldnt wanna go camping for the sake of 150 quid

actual cost of the trip to the ring wasn't 2 bad it was 5 nights on the piss that cost some of us
going halves on the fuel, hotel, ferry crossing & food set me back around Ł400 so not 2 bad
did nearly that again on the nights out though
my car is going next year so will have cost of laps around the ring as well

Stanstead - Frankfurt Hahn will cost about 30 quid return, rent a 1.3 Golf to get to the hotel/general tourist activities - 50 quid.

Go to the city and rent a Porsche - 300 quid. Abuse the Porsche - worth every penny.

It's an option worth considering - this is what most Americans/Japanese do.

I spent aFORTUNE on my first trip with the Evo, service before hand, service after, new brake pads for the trip, mullered them, also mullered the discs. Used more fuel than anyone can dream possible and am utterly grateful to those that supported me by putting in fuel and throwing money at the evo with me

Trip of a life time and cant wait to somehow afford to do it againd

I dont think a whole days food, drinks trackside in the cold, and snacks etc in a foreign country for Ł20 is too much, especially in teh evenings when socialising to be honest? Do you really think its excessive?
