This year will be my first one! Will miss my payment deadline to get on my club stand though so will be going solo in the ST and just meet the guys in the event.
Might have a bash at some 0-60 runs and a few laps.

grin all you like dan ,the way the show scene is going so far this year with attendance numbers down accross the regions ,its the sign of things to come and with the tourist pricing of food stands at events plays a key factor in most folks budgets ,and ford fair is the worst for overpricing and with the cost of fuel people are being far more picky over what shows to do now, Last year I actually enjoyed our local uxbridge autoshow more than ford fair as did the majority of our group hence why we have over 60 cars on stand for our next uxbridge show and just 30 cars for ford fair

ford fair is more about money money in recent years rather than actually playing a important role in the ford scene, yes its the biggest show and yes people will all go to it but apart from paul swifts stunt show last year found it pretty average and had better days at combe, central show and national day

Ford Fair attendance has gone up year-on-year, as has The Classic Ford Show - so from our perspective the show scene is growing, not declining. Smaller shows are struggling, as people are spending their cash more wisely - if it's the choice between going to a show where you've seen it all in a couple of hours, or a show where you struggle to see it all in a day... I know where I'd be spending my cash.

The fact that it is the biggest gathering of Fords in Europe means that it is playing an important role in the Ford scene surely? Obviously it has to make money, but if you saw how much it actually cost to stage an event that size, the entrance fee suddenly doesn't seem so unreasonable!

I'm also not surprised that you got a larger turnout at a your local show.

Finally I totally understand your annoyance at the food prices. But it is set by Silverstone and their food contractors, and we have no control over it whatsoever. Go to any event there and the food will cost the same. There's nothing to stop you from taking a packed lunch

Quick Reply: Ford fair. Who's going?
