Pics .....

Im pulling my hair out... LOL

The new pistons are ever so slightly bigger than the ones that were wrong.

So im having a nice lad drive to London right now with the block and pistons to have it re-honed to the correct tolerences.

Got to love lastminute.com

I only ask, as the only way that I can see that I will be able to do a similar conversion is to pay for it to be done. I simply do not have the time, space or capacity to do such a job.

Do you want to do another?

Well we are all set now to get this finished.

The block is re-honed and the piston rings gapped and fitted, early part of this week should see the engine fully assembled.

All the new kit from Earls UK has arrived so the brake lines and clutch line can be made and plumbed into the bias pedal box.

Mid week I went to Performance Trim to check how the carbon tailgate is coming along. Should be sorted this week hopefully fresh out the mould.
Couple of weeks too for the new bonnet I ordered

Central Day is loooooming

You have come knocking on the right thread
Its not the easiest of tasks to undertake.

You need to source the following...

ST170
sump, oil pick up, gearbox, top/rear mount, suitable clutch/flywheel to handle power and gear lever/cables.

Then you need to mate the drivehafts together with custom shafts either welded or custom made.

Then you need to remove the brake master cylinder /servo and install a pedal bias box with lines etc to link brake system.

Its probably the most complex gearbox to isntall, Focus RS box would be my recommendation if asked what to use.

You need to speak to OBP google obp for details....

Any bulkhead mounted or floor mounted will suit...

Or use a mk5 Fiesta one

As for drive shafts... you pay £500 for Dave Mac fit and forgets...
or you cut/weld/sleeve standard ones.

Sorry mate not something I do with regard work on cars for a living it stresses me enough having my cars, yet alone someone elses.

well thats it for now, but it looks like there will be plenty of room for some wider wheels. Im not going into too much details as to how the rest of the mould will be finished but with a bit of filler the plug will be ready for pulling a mould off.

I would like to thank Luke for being really patient with me as this is totally from scratch and is purely R&D from start to finish, these things take time :-(. Thanks mate.

Hope you like Luke

Cheers

Raj

Run with wider wheel/tyre without looking hideously out of place.

That's the idea although I doubt Il run them that wide.

No idea on the exact material type but im told good for 1000hp.

Those are good prices!

Reco Prop quoted me around that price to cut n shut/re balance the shafts, something I didnt want to consider.
