just a small update as i took the camera down today,i finally begged some axle stands off a neighbour,i took the wheels off then i managed to get it up on axle stands,i then had to relese the handbrake cable from its mountings and relese the prop from the diff.the back end is ready to come off i was just wary about putting a jack under the diff to lower it down once all the bolts are undone,is that ok??i also took the arch linings out of the rear, check for pics of the back end actually off the car tomorrow

somebodys moody work

arch liner removed

random shot

prop undone from diff and no exhaust

diff minus the prop

definatly needs a freshen up

should be ok to lower the diff down that way mate, as long as you take it slow. once its down you can do what you want with it, cheers mark.

**UPDATE**

went down the garage today and decided i wasnt going home until the rear end was finally dropped to the floor.i managed to get it off in the end,ive been doing a couple of hours a day so i guess in all its took me a full working day to drop the rear end off and remove the oil breather bits and the cam cover, not bad for a novice ,a couple of problems though,1st a bolt snapped in the body and i found a big bulge in one of the tyres i took off ,and ill need a new section of exhast welded in as mine is flat as foooook at the bottom from slappin speed humps

exhast off

bashed by speed humps

another shot

bulg in tyre, and to think how fast ive been with this on!!!!!!

snapped bolt!!!!!!!

jack under diff,ready to drop

halfway down

get off!!!!!

lots of stripping to do

chassis rails look sweet, but battery ran out so this is the closest shot

it was dark by the time i managed to drop the rear end so ill take some shots of it tomorrow when i drag it out and take it to the local shot blasters.ive nearly used my monthly quota on photobucket so my pics might dissapear for a few days, but no worrys

Well done

Would'nt worry about that exhaust, mine identical
Mine was damaged racing an Impreza with a set of alloys in the back of my car, squated like fook under power overtaking and the exhaust was hitting the cats eyes in 3rd and 4th gear!

That back tyre is scary What make is it,and any sign of damage that caused that bulge?????????

if you look on the website the kits start at Ł40 which is still cheap imo.
i sent me old ones to them cus it was easier than explaining what i wanted over the phone, come with full instructions and every pipe is labelled so you know where they go , hope this helps, cheers mark.

SMALL UPDATE.since xmas i lost a bit of the taste for it,but ive spent on a few bits over the past week and have now gpt my head back in gear. i ordered my bushes from deflex, service was second to none.they arrived in a couple of days.i spent out on a skyline intercooler which should be delivered sometime this week, ive just got to graft it into place .but should look sweet when done.ive also got a bit of exhast wrap on to keep the temps down.with my bushes arriving i decided i needed my rear end moving from under the car to gain access so i can get underneath to start the dreaded scrapping prossess.ill be starting from tomorrow so ill post some pics of that as i go.the parts are due at the blast cleaners on thursday so should be some good progress by the start of next week

i love parcels!!!!

rear bushes(no spring bushes as im using coilovers)&exhast bushes

exhast wrap

rear end dismanteled

Looking good mate,

I remember getting disheartened at this stage, every bolt is a nightmare to get off or shears! But chin up and stick with it cause once you start getting everything tidied up and putting it back together it's all worth while. My rear beam was absolutely NO different to yours when I dropped it off so you will have a real minter when finished!

Wicked!! Keep them Away from any moisture mate and put them in a dry place! What clours you going for in the end?

Gonna cost you a small fortune doing all your breather pipes in Aeroquip!
