No way in hell ill be there at this rate, but theres practice days almost every week, and every day on the road, so no prob, lol.

89xr2 17-01-2006 01:33 AM

Cheers for the info.

Those guys are pretty fkin good. Are they pro's? Car's certainly look like it. Seeing all these vids and stuff you've posted up is making me want to get an S13 even more.

I need to get one and start my own local drift crew so they can fix my car when i smash it into things.

Stavros 17-01-2006 10:20 PM

Not Pro's, but Phil in the black S14 in the pics aboveis one of the best in the UK, the Pink 350Z is a mega bucks tuner car, but not driven by a pro in that vid just pretty good, and the other vid is matt in his S14 and like Phil hes not a pro, but hes very good!

Ive been in that car with Matt, and he's proper nuts, only reason hes not won many comps so far is hes sooo agressive he ends up crashing, he awesome.

Having a bunch of mates that will help you fix it will help soo much mate, im a bit fucked at mo as not many of my mates are into cars, Greg (Bigwig) comes to help loads, but he lives miles away so even thats not so easy!

Stavros 23-01-2006 11:04 PM

Update, seeing as ive got some pics thanks to Greg...

We (me, Dan/Fudgeass, and Greg/Bigwig) took the old engine and box out, swapped all relevent bits onto the new engine, and put it back in.

Taking it out took 2hrs tops inc removing all the pipes n shit.

Shame fitting it has took a good 7hrs now and we still not mananged it
Just cant quite get it all lined up perfect :wall:

getting there....

datar18 24-01-2006 07:03 AM

Nice one Steve!!! c :top: :top:

how long until its back on the road then??

or is it back on the road now??

is this new engine standard#??

Stavros 24-01-2006 12:00 PM

Back this weekend i think mate.

That ones internally standard.

Bolt-ons are good enough anyhow, can get 350odd with no prob anyhow on std internals.

But if I break it i might uprate the HG and Pistons, esp if I can get em for free... :DD:

Im more interested in the new turbo n balloon blower that il be fitting soon.
Esp as now I realised itl fit in a better place to how I thought, so a big front mounter is now no prob...

Rudey 24-01-2006 01:23 PM

good stuff matey

datar18 24-01-2006 01:37 PM

sounds promising then mate!!

could you not build that spare engine up and get some internals specced up and fitted? ;)

Stavros 24-01-2006 01:46 PM

datar18 24-01-2006 03:19 PM

sounds good!!

so, how is the actual drifting coming along?? was out the other week with a mate of mine in his volvo(the white one with superlights) and it was great weather for it, slightly damp but not tipping it down!!

Well since the engines been fooked ive not had a chance to do owt :(

Shame as my mate has been out nigh on every day drifting and been to two more practice days so is waaay better than me now

Seriously tempted to do one of them Volvos soon, R5GTT engines bolt straight in, so thats ideal as thats my specialist engine ;)

James-W 24-01-2006 03:27 PM

Looking good Steve. :top: :top: :top: :top:
Keep it up.

Stavros 29-01-2006 06:10 PM

Got the engine in and mounted properly at last!

https://img380.imageshack.us/img380/5199/standsx1lk.jpg

Once we knew how, what took us 7hrs of trying before was done in about 45!

Thanks to the prop having 2 UJ's it was easy to get the prop into the gearbox by removing the prop mount and the safety hoop thingy.

Getting all the gearbox mounts in is a right fiddly arse of a job tho, which is annoying as its a 2min job to remove em!

Nearly there...

Went down the scrapper on saturday and found this...

https://img499.imageshack.us/img499/...appersx1wd.jpg

So robbed a few bits n pieces off it, tho the few bits we couldve done with, we didnt remember to get

Started to remove the front bumper too, then decided i couldnt be arsed, and went home

Got some parts for doing a 5stud hub conversion on sat, should have the rest by monday. Then i can fit the deep dish Work Equips off my GTR onto the S13

big_wig_074 29-01-2006 06:54 PM

me with hammer in 2nd pic, looks like im about to bash the car! well, maybe i did!

Depends what you mean by complete! Should be running again by end of next weekend, but its never complete :DD:

Today alone I ordered some adjustable rear camber arms, a vertical hydraulic handbrake, and off in a bit to go pick up the rest of the bits to do a 5stud conversion

Supercharger mmmmmm.

Trust me, the only things ive actually BOUGHT is the engine, box, and supercharger, so ive spent 500quid (300 engine, 50 box, 150 charger)
Id say thats very low dough  :top:

And yes, big up Greg n Dan for helping, without help id be nowhere with this thing, seriously

Greg is a top guy he pointed me in the right direction a few weeks ago and was VERY VERY helpful so big up to him and Fudge.

Stavros 02-02-2006 09:45 PM

Fuck this, i AM going Matt Black ASAP, check this...

How fucking cooooool does that look?!

And you knows whats best?

He painted it with a ROLLER

Didnt even rub the car down

Charlie Chalk 02-02-2006 10:02 PM

What type of roller

That finish looks pretty damn fucking good!

Stavros 02-02-2006 10:07 PM

He said any closer than about 6ft and you can see its not perfect.

But frankly...

Who fucking cares! :DD:

I mean, matt black is for mean ass racers not show cars :top:

Charlie Chalk 02-02-2006 10:11 PM

Very true... ;)

Looks smart either way

Where did you get your handbrake from? :D

Stavros 02-02-2006 10:16 PM

Rally design mate :top:

Feels soo nice to use

Cant wait to plumb the fecker in :top:

Charlie Chalk 02-02-2006 10:21 PM

Cheers :top:

Need to look at some ;)

Stavros 02-02-2006 10:24 PM

Think your gonna use it much tho?

Under normal track use you wont touch it.

Only reason I got it is its massivley useful in drifitng to initiate the drift and adjust the angle if you cant by other means.

Charlie Chalk 02-02-2006 10:27 PM

I might if i start hill climbs...Ive applied for the licence, If its to much bother then i wont, But im just pricing up things :top:

Stavros 02-02-2006 10:30 PM

Aaah, for things like autotests and maybe hillclimbs too then yeah, its a good call.

Id deffo go for your national B or summat mate and get hillclimbing, should be an ace crack :top:

Timed/Judged stuff is sooo much more fun to me, thats why ive neer been a huge fan of track days

Charlie Chalk 02-02-2006 10:35 PM

My shell/cage is being built for track/hillclimb so its good in both areas etc etc

Just an option, When i got the paper work through i might just turn my nose up...

We'll see :top:

You and you're fking balloons. I don't believe they were blown up with that charger. Supercharger looks much too powerful for such lightweight balloons, the balloon casualties would be far too great . Without actual proof at and during the time of inflation I shall label you a liar and a cheat!

Saw the vid you put up where the guy has a vertical handbrake. Did i see you put somewhere that the car was supercharged? If you did I can see why you want one on yours.

Stavros 03-02-2006 08:48 AM

Yea, that car was Supercharged.

Not turbocharged as well though.
