The latest update....
New footwell....
new footwell (engine bay side)....
new inner wing....
nice new battery tray as well....
Thats the front end coming along now. Most of the fiddly bits have been done, so its a case of using Ford panels to rebuild now

There is also the fact the guys have sorted out a LOT of fiddly wee bits and hand made new panels (i.e the footwells and boot floor) which has added to labour costs.
richard .... thats the plan

Ł4500 isnt as bad as what i though well ish as its got to be worth that so far with parts and labour.
cant wait to see it all done, btw i got a few hundred quid owed to me, when i got fancy selling me the shell
just a thought, what ya gunna do it once the shells all finished? how ya gunna in sure all the areas that have had new bits fitted are all painted/sealed to stop the rust bug setting up home again? you gunna send it for a galvenise dip?

A "few hundred quid" for a restored genuine Fiesta RS shell .... not bloody likely
All the panels will be getting painted and laquered. All internal areas, i.e rear quarters will be back filled with wax-oyl, especially around the arches. But to add to that, all the panels are glued, which means they are sealed from water getting between them ....... and ..... my bodykit will be bonded on to add yet another layer to stop water getting at the sills and arches.

I found alot the sound deadening just above the petrol cap, on the inner arch pannel (if you get me ) was trapping moisture. Needlous to say it was removed with the rest of my interior and given sa serious wax oyl`n.
Good luck though mate, and keep us posted with more pics

from the pics it looks as though the guys working on your motor really know what therye doing mate. i would imagine a lot of shops would not have taken the car on when they realised how much work was involved.

hello to you Mr Law. Hows tricks??
I aint been on her for a long time, OMG i am so impressed by how the car is coming along
Fair play to you to, i know how much the car means to you and its awesome to see you returning it to what i suspect will be better than the day it left the factory
Also fair play to alan for tackling such a task
