Default first time winter restorer

Im lookin for some advice because ive stripped engines but ive never stripped an interior or body work before. Ive got a series 2 89 (g reg) ESRT, its got a slight hole behind the sunroof and another underneath the passenger side rear quater panel window and was thereforee thinking about stripping it and sorting any rust etc, don't think it'll need any weldin and i was just wanderin if anybody had any advice for me as to how to go about it. Whats the best way to fix the holes on a very low budget. cheers for any help

Default oeps ther's another one

yep seems to me that you'll have a hard work fixing that roof, hope you won't end up like I did. I had some major rust probs with my sun roof (just check mine "oh boy here we go"), ended up in placing a complete new roof, picked it up for a stupid Ł8, do check the battery panel, the rear (L+R) besides the spare wheel well,where the springs are attatched to.Mine is standing still @ the moment as I can't weld good enough, so it's taking a bit longer ;
good luck m8, keep's posted
cheers

right updates, heres my turbo before it got stripped

<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/rs.jpg>

Did a bit of work on the engine

<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/0fe913eb.jpg>

<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/head_and_manifold.jpg>

<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/ec7d1160.jpg>

then cause of the hole behind the sunroof i decided to stip the interior as well which resulted in this, which isn't 2 bad but it aint great

drivers side sill
<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/85a0e0ce.jpg>

Passenger sill
<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/771e07ca.jpg>

Sunroof
<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/ce7f5d85.jpg>

<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/913d9bc4.jpg>

and bulk head which it looks like the previous owners tried to do a cowboy job on it with some silicon, might ave slowed down the rot though
<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/51cbc589.jpg>

<img src=http://img11.photobucket.com/albums/v34/makaveli662/101bcb9e.jpg>

so get the bulkhead welded by 1 of me mates cause i dont know me arse from a mig, resin bond a plate to the roof & fill the hole then get it up on axle stands and sort out the underneath and any suggestions on wat to do with the rotted sunroof cradle please!

Sorry to say it mate but your roof is fooked. only way to fix it is to put on a new roof skin because you cant mend them once they have gone like that as they are a double skin.

The rest doesn't look that bad so some welding would sort that out but it's the roof thats the main problem, good luck mate. Look on the bright side, your car is still sitting on its wheels, my esc cos is but a bare shell in the garage getting its winter rebuild

well the roof had a slight crack in it wen i bought it, i too just skimmed over it with some filler and well now ive got a hole. maybe if id used p40 instead of 38 it might ave been alright, anyway lesson learnt. if u wanna check then just whip ur sunroof out, 10 minute job & should give a good indication.
