OK Peeps. Update time!!
Having done a bit of High Boost/High Load testing, we found that the ACT's were creeping up. Normally I wouldn't have worried, but with the fact that the car is going to see some Top Speed action, I went for a rethink on the Intercooler. This involved a trip to Pro Alloy's workshop and after a lengthy discussion we arrived at a new Custom Intercooler design for my car. Then, due to certain other time constraints, the boys really delivered the goods in terms of time. They turned this job around SO quickly, for which I am highly grateful. CheeRS Wayne/Alex.
Anyway, the new Cooler features a 63mm Core and is wider than its predecessor. The design of the Top End Tank is nothing less than superb. There is no way that you could run an RST Bonnet Catch with this style of cooler, due to the Bonnet Clearance (or lack of).
I wanted to run a Cooler that was no bigger than I needed, for the purpose of minimising lag, but on this occassion, I have had to make a sacrifice in the name of a little more safety, due to the expected use of the car. I haven't carried out further tests yet, but if the new Cooler yields any extra power, then it will certainly have surpassed my expectations. The car already feels VERY fast.
Incidentally, the Fans had to be upgraded too, due to the extra thickness of the Intercooler. I also had to remount the Radiator and Cannabalise the Bumper!
So a BIG to the Pro Alloy guys.
I didn't get a chance to take a pic of the finished article with the Bumper on as the fitting of the Cooler resulted in me being late to pick up Ms B from work (for which I would have received a sharp slap to the head). I will take some pics over the weekend and hopefully get a chance to run it up on the 'Test Track'.
Enjoy......

No turbo cooler? It looks like it can be a bit longer too, hmmmmm, all things to be considered in the mk2 version
Looks like an easy fit mate, very nice. Now hurry up and fit mine

Turbo is GT Series. It was spec'd for the car, so can't really say exactly what it is.
As for the Black Crackle, I have it done by a Local guy who is a good friend. He does alot of Cam Covers for our Nissan 200SX Engine builds too and the quality is SUPERB!!

Just taken time to read the whole thread start to finish and to say i'm impressed with this car would be an understatement!
I knew it was a special bit of kit before you started doing all this to it but the work gone into the engine is just superb!
What kind of power do you think, or know lol its running now mate?
Well Done!

Hi Everyone!!! Thanks for your comments.
There are some more changes coming with the car, so there may be an update or two over the course of the next week or so.
All in time for the PF Thrash, hopefully!!

Is it an intercooler as you said you weren't happy with yours when I saw you at the Essex Meet?

I think tomorrow night is the night!!
Not sure if I will get it all done though.
It's nothing that major, just hopefully the few missing links that then mean I can turn the Boost up a little!!
The car is constantly in development, but I really do NEED to be able to drive it and enjoy it, as the problems lately have really destroyed my enthusiasm. There are a few things like ALS, Full Throttle Gearshift and Closed Loop Lambda Control that are coming soon, but they have really taken a back seat for now.
CheeRS again all for your comments. Can't wait until the Thrash!!
