Of course you'll see from these pics that the majority of the engine bay wiring has gone. The Fusebox is now in the car, under the dash and any wiring that was needed is in the inner wings.
I have also fitted a Quad-Ballast HID kit. I went for 4300k, because I didn't want them to be atall Blue. I've got new Headlight bodies too, so I should finally have good headlights. It's always been a let-down with the RST. The Quad Ballast aspect means that you can have a Xenon bulb for both Dipped and Main beam, although I suspect I won't need Main beam!!
So what do you think so far? For the first time in the last 18 months, I practically have a list of things left to do, there's been too much to do until now to list it.
The driveshafts are partially fitted and once I have the car up in the air again, I'll take some pics of my Equal length set-up.
Thats all for now.

Very impressive indeed!! Been the nosey sod that I am, whats keeping it cool? A header tank is going to ruin the perfect look you've got, or is there room under the drivers wing for one???

Oil Cooler goes over those holes, they allow through-flow.
Standard header tank to go in yet.
Wish I could afford a nice Alloy one, but not yet. My header tank is practically new, but its still discoloured, so I will probably end up replacing it! They aren't expensive anyway.
Thanks for your comments everyone. It's what keeps me going.
I just hope the rest of it is straight-forward and it performs how I hope. Frankly, I'm drained and just want it to be finished now so that I can enjoy it. The painting of the engine bay was only supposed to be a simple blow-over because I had welded a few bits up, but it got a whole going over in the end. Sadly though, the guy that did it really didn't make a very good job of it. It looks OK, but if you so much as touch it wrong, it chips.
Oh well, maybe one day I'll get someone like Jacko to do me a proper job.
But I don't want to be afraid to drive it!!

Yes it is similar. I've not had it apart yet, but I gather it has a paper element inside, although you can upgrade it to a proper metal one, which I will probably do.
We don't stock the Fuelab stuff, but I can get it. Along with pretty much anything you see in my build, apart from the bespoke stuff of course.

Mate, your bay is looking exteamly bufty.. I don't know how u find the time! I have spent the last couple of months dropping an ST170 lump in mine, and the amount of arsing around is untrue. I've reversed the way the turbo sits so the compressor is on the left, and had to repipe everything. With the NMS cossie cooler it's sooo tight at the front. Everything's been in and out so much that there are scratches and marks everywhere - but i just want it to be useable - fair play for making yours look nice.

It's not perfect, but at last I can lift the bonnet and feel good about it.
Looking forward to seeing yours done too.

If you get the engine bay stripped, I'll come do it at yours at no cost.
Such a high quality of finish, Love it mate

Enginebay look's fantastic, but its the parts used and the thinking outside the box that appeals to me the most. Hope you get to enjoy the car when its finished,a few trackdays etc,as opposed to the topspeed stuff which I'd think is more stressfull.Regards,Micky

I actually like that sunroof fix.It is the only real way to do the repair as there are no roofskins around to fit.Plus it gives the car a more track/racecar look!!

I think we're in for drama's with the Coilovers yet, but I guess we'll see.
It's certainly going to feel like a different car, with the front and rear braces, 6-point cage, partial seam-welding, coilovers, equal length shafts, ATB diff and so on.
I'm hoping I might get it running over the weekend, if not it'll be close, then I just have to give the whole car a once over, sort wheel bearings, finish the braking system and we're good to go. Hopefully I can get the geometry set up now and not screw it up too much when I sort the clutch.
Oh, have I mentioned the clutch?!!??!!
It's got a £70 'National' Clutch kit in it at the moment. Wonder what power that will take!!
Any guesses?
Wastegate is currently sprung to 1.5 bar, that did 260bhp on the old set-up. I have a feeling I might struggle!
