Believe me mate, cut your losses and stop now.
After spending around £10,000 on the car the DVLA condemed it.
The whole car was built on a one off jig to ensure it was all welded straight and every thing.
I used 2No 2.1ZVH engines both with Mondeo MTX75 gearboxes (with Cable gear change and hydraulic clutch for easier set up).
They claim that because the car was a one off they would not know how it would react in a crash and condemed it from road use.
I was gutted. I spent nearly 2 years building it and all for nothing.
If you just want a track car then great carry on.
If you want road use, forget about it.
Buy a standard one.
Sorry to break the news mate.
Matt.
I'll try and get some photos put on to CD and down load them of my twin engined S2.

What happened to the car in the end?

Rich,
No MOT station would give it a ticket without a DVLA certificate of inspection (Engineers Report).
Just covering there arses basically.
Could have got a dodgy MOT but if I was ever pulled by the old bill they can ask you to produce the DVLA certificate.
Its a common procedure with all new Kit cars.
Problem was I was going by the book and took it to the DVLA, once they saw it they condemed it from road use and the Log book was stamped . No way round it after that.
The car was scrapped about 2 months ago (couldn't bare to see someone esle benefit from all the hard work i put in so i had it crushed) .
I now have a new S2 that all the parts are going onto. I sold one engine and gearbox to buy the new car.
I'll take my photos into Boots and get them to transfer them onto a CD so i can put them on this site.

Here we go.
I always promised i'd post the photos of my RWD escort.
I can't find the rest of my photos at the moment so this is all i have.
They are scaned so the quality might not be great.
Matt.
