Heated rear window hasn't worked properly since I brought the Escort. So got a NOS switch and got it fitted. Works perfectly now.

Also gave the steering wheel a couple of coats of leather protector.

Checked all the levels, Tyre pressures etc ready for the weekend.

And I've ordered some H&R racing -40mm lowering spring, along with new strut top mounts and bearings......as I hate the Apex springs. Handles well but really crashey and harsh. Think the rears have sagged too. Will probably raise up slightly, but hopefully have a good stance still.

Haha......cheers mate. I love that steering wheel, so comfortable to drive with. And looks good too.

Driving it always puts a big grin on my face. So much fun.

Here's that bonus spoiler I was talking to you about months ago. Bargain price too, Personally i'd get it painted in matt black or use that resin effect paint you can buy.

Cheers for the link.

Saw that one, but wasn't sure if it was for a hatch back. Loads that are advertised, are for different cars when you look at part no's. I've got you few on watch. Just waiting for one a bit nearer, so I can pick it up. Not had much luck with delivery of larger car parts lately.

And you mate, was some lovely motors there.

So do I, that's why I couldn't keep the old sound system in the car. Does sound good with the speakers I fitted.

Replacing the - 60mm apex springs as they are horrid to drive on, crash, bang everywhere (even though it does look good). Got some H&R racing - 40mm coming from Germany and got new front strut mounting kit too. Should still look good, but drive loads better.

Apex springs are crap, I had a set on my old mk6 escort and never liked them. Had H&R on my mk3 mondeo and they were very good, just right for road use.

Yeah they are, were on the car when I brought it. Had cheap springs in the past and hated them. My old Type R had H&R, so does my brothers Astra coupe. On both the cars, they sat well, handled great and good quality.

Brother sent me some photos today, H&R racing springs and new top mount kits fitted. Looks loads higher, but not too high. Pic was taken straight off the ramp, so will settle a bit. Once settled, I'll get the tracking done.

MOT done and passed, failed first go. Washer jets were blocked, only thing I forgot to check. Probably because I hardly use them, as I keep the windows clean.

Sitting better today too.

Got the Escort back this morning, handles really well. Loads better with the - 40mm springs.......then it decided to have a oil leak (don't think she likes being away lol). Just the engine oil pressure switch. So picked a new one up today, fitted, Topped up, ran up and tested. No leaks found, except my weepy sump gasket.

By the looks of it, a 27 year old oil pressure switch.

Went out all morning in the Escort, around 50-60 miles. Drives, handles, grips and sits loads better. So well happy now.

Picked up a new dash surround too, with coin holder, and just two button holes. As I don't have heated front screen, or electric mirrors. Trip computer only registers 0mpg, and beeps all the time.

Not the best start at 08:45 this morning, reversed out the garage. Thought, what's those wet spots that are quickly disappearing?......answer, petrol!

One split fuel pipe, off the high pressure fuel pump, around the tank to the tube that runs to the front of the car.

Name: DSC_0693_zpsdy0gzzk9.jpg
Views: 298
Size: 323.7 KB

Replaced the pipe, checked for leaks and went for a long drive. All good again, and even stopped for some pics.

Cheers Glenn, he's very thorough and stringent. Which I prefer tbh, don't want him losing his job for something daft.....theres a lot of spot checks done now, my Dad is a tester too. But he's not allowed to test family members vehicles.

Took me ages to find where the leak was till it got worse lol.

This thread probably won't be updated anymore. Not paying $399 a year to host pictures that have been free for the 10 years I've been using Photobucket.

Don't have the time to transfer all the pics to a different hosting site.

Forums are struggling enough without crap like this. This will finish a lot of forums off.

This must have happened in recent days. I went on PB not long ago, its awfully slow and has been for years. Utter crap, I know there's other hosting sites to use. Like you all my pics are on PB..... Why are they asking you for foreign money? You're UK....I assume the dumb Yanks couldn't be bothered to change the exchange unit while asking for money. I've no idea what the inferior $ is to the £, But would guess over £250?

Apparently it started on the 26/06/17......no warnings at all. About £300+ at the moment, they have 100 million users, so it's just pure greed. I would of paid £10-20 a year. I used the mobile app, that worked fine for me.

Not transferring all the photos and redoing all my threads, just don't have the time......plus other hosting sites could start doing the same.

I agree with everything you say. This hopefully will be the end for them, and they learn from their mistake. As you say, I can see this being the end for photo threads and resto threads. I like looking at the pics before reading the content.

Im hoping they have a re-think, but I doubt it. Took me 4 hrs to download my photos onto hard drive yesterday, due to there slow, ad and virus filled website. So not uploading them elsewhere, too much hassle.
I'm the same, look at photos then read the content.
