Skyline powered e46 BMW
Well after much messing around with what to sell and keep I made the right decision to sell the 3dr as it just wasn't what I wanted in the end and have decided I want to build a skyline powered e46 BMW as fancy something mad to use for drifting/track days.
I have bought a 2001 330ci sport coupe this week and a 1994 rb25det skyline. So will be planning a build thread very shortly. I'm looking at around 450bhp out of the skyline motor with the car fully stripped, caged, buckets and the exterior will be full e46 m3 but all fibreglass.
I will be looking for some pointers on the way so have joined the driftworks forum and a couple of BMW forums.
I know it's not a ford but would be interested to see what you guys think.

Different Rich on a standard liner engine 450 will be a challenge as the pistons are weak above 400 as the piston ring land tend to crumble so the first thing would be a cheap set of gtr rods as there better than the gtst and a forged set of pistons and a cosworth head gasket and a set tomei poncams a gt30 you will see a easy 500 bhp and about 1.5 bar

I use to work for bmw a few years back and the e46 rear subframe mounts are notoriously weak and if you're going to run that sort of power you must reinforce them. Otherwise you'll crack the mounting points and that's when things get messy. Basically the n/s rear mounting point cracks first and when that fails the o/s front mounting point cracks. A lot of people refer to this as the boot floor but technically its a large structural part of the body work that sits underneath and in front of the boot floor. I'd say the majority of e46 M3s out there have had this part of the body replaced under warranty.
You'll need to reinforce the two rear mounting points by using bmw's repair method which involves injecting that area of the body with their expoxy foam which sets like concrete and prevents the mountings from flexing.
Or cut away the upper part of the boot floor to reveal the sub frame mounting points and have a custom cage tied into the points and then weld up the upper boot floor. It's a bit difficult to describe but there's loads of info out there.
Anyway, sounds like an awesome project. Just thought I'd give you the heads up on the rear floor issue.

Thanks guys. I was gonna look into this as I had an m3 years ago and had it all done under warranty. im probably gonna tie the cage to just about everything so that should help.
Well the 330ci landed today and almost seems a shame to break it up. If anyone needs anything off it let me know as all the bumpers, trim etc are going.
The skyline will be turning up Tuesday.

It appears the Moff shop website is down for maintenance at mo, he has a 2.5 gts-t skyline running 600bhp+ and takes part in time attack so like I said if you need parts and help just give him a shout.
Jay didn't he take it to abbey motorsport to get it all done and they made it run perfect or has he has issues since?
What is the car being used for? Track or track and drift? Garage D might be able to help and driftworks. No probs I'll try to help anyone I can.
Also try indigo-gt.com and speak to Ant he is a top guy and they do many of the jap cars, not much on their site so would be best to call them
