I am about to start a project and need to choose an engine to use in it but don't know whether to go with a cosworth or a mk2 focus rs engine?

Will be used in a mid engine layout with 4 wheel drive and need to run between 400-500bhp, and be as reliable as possible.

Well based on your user name I'd go for something that's looks the part ie a zetec turbo with a BDA style rocker cover.

 

Authentic look would be nice but not sure the zetec would be as easy to tune as the duratec or the yb, or could take as much power and be as reliable.

 

Personally id go yb i have a mate with a mk3 frs cost him 20k done another 20k getting it to 500 a 600 yb would be close to that and sounds a billion times better sorry hate that 5 pot sound
