nice one mate you are doing a good job. it all seams very familier for me i did this last winter, this winter its the engine bay and engine 
none of this was because of rust on mine either just that 14 year old paint where it hasnt been polished dosnt look great now. i will try and put my under bonnet resto pictures on here at some point.

Been bored at work, so i've had fun reading this all day long in sections... 
Really want to drop then engine out of mine and make it look minted too now
