Escort mk6 van
Hello people,
Let me introduce myself, I'm Dave and I live in Belgium, Zwevezele. At this moment I'm combinating work and my studies in bachelor cartechnology. I've been working at a ford service garage (Garage ford de keyzer Christophe in Zwevezele) in the saturdays for about 5 years, and about 3 years from now I'm working and servicing rally cars at team floral in Roeselare.
After watching this forum with interesting threads in it, I decided to join it too and telling you about my adventures too.
I recently bought a low budget ford escort mk6 van 1.8 turbodiesel with a lot of work on it.
I already fixed the problems to get me through the MOT:
- a rear brake line.
- a rust problem at the back and right side.
There's much more to do on the van:
- engine replacement from a donor car that has an accident. The car has a turbodiesel intercooler with less kilometers on it than the engine the van.
- the front bumper, it's a look a like from a rs2000 with fog lights in it.
- the dashboard because the dash in the van hasn't have a rpm meter an the dash of the donor is more easy to install a boostmeter.
- because the bumper has a form of a mk5 and the van has the front of a mk6 I will think this thing through.
- possible the wiring for the rpm meter and the fog lights.
That's all folks for this time, see you next time for an update.
Greetings Dave

this is the only picture I've taken for the moment.
It's already fixed and I'll take some more pics tomorow when I will go to the MOT.
