Default My saff cossie updated (25/4/2020)

My car is in the bodyshop again due to the rear arches been rusty again and the front lips on the wings been rusty too.The lad who owns the bodyshop said to help and to keep the labour costs down that I could strip the car down so all he had to do was the body work.

Also in the nsr foot well/floor is also corroded so this will need welding too.

So yeh the car needs a bit of tlc.Im popping down this week to so how the progress is coming on.Im dreading getting the other side stripped down cause ive got a funny feeling the other side will be the same.

It just gor me thinking about how many other cosies are like this behind the sills. At the end of the day I love the car and its my hobby so I wanna keep the old girl on the road.

Thanks for looking.

I didnt wanna chang the wings cause there the original ones with the dates and ford badge stamped in the.The nsf wing is really good. The lad at the bs said he will cut a section out of the osf wing and weld a new piece in.

Well at least its found so you can hopefully nip it in the bud so to speak, rot cut out, new panels properly treated and it will hopefully be good for another 20 years.

Cutting all the rust out will be fine, but i wouldnt cut the wings to bits .these will always be unseen and for Ł120 a side id replace them and clean the inner wings while the outters were off . The last thing you want is it back in the body shop next year for more rust work . Just my opinion

I know Steve. You sort of expect now when owning a ford lol.

I went down last night to see the progress on the car. He has cut all the rust out of inner and outer sills and was on welding new steel in.

I took the carpet out and the drivers seat. One of the seat bolts snapped. Bastardddddd lol. Its the only bolt that has ever snapped on the car when ive done work to it.

At least I can give the seats a good clean and wash the carpet.

Yeh your right there.Ive never owned a car for so long lol.

I noticed my front drivers seat base foam was out of shape.I took the cover off and found the foam had split.I got some carpet glue and repaired the foam.

Ive just got the carpet to clean now.At least it gives me something to do when the car is in the bodyshop.
