hi people i need some help here can you tell me if it possible to put a 2.9 cosworth engine from a granada/scorpio in a escort mk1 as i got hold of ex rally car with no running gear in it if you know some one who have done it did it go ok or was it a big mistake what do i look out for or do i look for some thing else to put in there it will be an every day car so any help would be respected and what do you lot think about me restoring it back to a basic model with steel wheels basically all standard the only thing giving it away is an uprated exhaust and lowered and uprated suspension and a big big engine to scare the living day light of any nova prat (do not mean to offend anyone)

Anything is possiable, the v6 is very heavy though, nealy twice the weight
of a pinto, it depends on what you want out of the car/engine ,like when
you say every day car, do you mean stuck in traffic on the way to and from
work, if so a lairy pinto that wont idle, isnt gona be much fun and the v6
might be a better bet, if you want it to handel, and are bothered about fuel
consumption, the v6 aint the way to go.

I know it's possible in a fiesta mk1... 2 year's ago here in Holland there was a man with a orange fiesta mk1 (could have been a mk2) at the lelystad meeting.
He build it him self. There was a 2.9 V6 WITH TURBO in it!
He build it fully race, so didn't drive on public roads.
Too bad we had rain that day. The car had too much power to be handled...
There was only one problem... He only can sit in it alone.... The turbo has taken place on the passenger seat

hi there i'm ditching the V6
and getting a zetec 1800 or 2000 not sure yet i heard the 18 is better than 20 as it rev's better
tell us your idea's with that it would be better than the V6 as it's lighter and cheaper
so i can get a zetec here i think my local garage has an 18cc on there shop floor just sitting there and it's f*&#?!g clean
i don't think it done much mile's to it too the only problem is the engine mounts as the engine need's to be moved back abit to help the weight
so how do i work that out or is there a crossmember made to do that for me
