ex mag featured euro style orion
Here we have my recently aquired mk2 orion, was featured in performance ford magazine. had a front end smack a while ago but has been repaired (very well might i had) before i got it. it was efi 1600 cvh but had the motor and gubbins ripped out of it. I have not done much except stick on a set of beautiful escos monte rims and stripped, cleaned, prepped and primed the bay
The engine i hav for it is a fully rebuilt mfi turbo lump, all the bottom end re-done, head and inlet re-done, new turbo, freshened up mfi unit, and pretty much every bracket or cover powder coated... which as you can see is in the living room.
If any one has a complete 1600 efi lump either for sale or want to do a deal for the turbo lump, please just send me a message
more updates/pics, as and when they come

Ill be watching this with interest! You have a LOVELY car on your hands!
One small criticism is I much prefer the Borbet's...but it still looks good!

those arches were made to fit those borbets so perfectly, think they were 16x9s and with a fairly meaty offset from memory, so anything that isnt offensively wide and angry offset is just going to get swallowed up. the arches have kind of swallowed the montes which are normally pretty pokey on the mk4 platform lol

glad its not just me thinkin it lol
i know being a ford forum, there isnt going to be much love for the euro look, but this thing was made to be euro, so it kinda needs the rims to suit, otherwise the arches are just gonna look pointless. get some borbet B rims back on it dude, 16x9s pop up pretty easily in the more pokey offsets as they were old audi fitment 4x108, just usually too wide for ford boys, but this is built for them!

I personaly love the wheels on the orion, when the weather gets better i will take more pics, as they do fill the arches quite well, the pics just dont do it justice.
Managed to source a 90 spec bumper plus a loada late escort mk4 efi parts like ecu cover, air box, expansional bottle etc down a breakers yard, only problem was i had to rob them of a mint SE500 cabriolet, with no rust on it

well heres some photos of progress...
After gettin the bay done i got a 1600 efi lump just to chuck in and drive the thing about with before turbo'ing, but a quick check on the cambelt revealed...
the pump was siezed, the bottom pulley smoothed of from rust and the engine seized solid, so i decieded to get on with some other projects i had at the time, and it got left for about 6 or 7 months, until a few weeks back where i decided to crack on
I gave my engine (in peices) to a mate who has an old school machine shop in town where it got built.
In the end it got a full balancing on the rotating asembely, the copper blanks pulled out and re-done, block was decked, honed, polished crank, re-face on the head, re-faced flywheel, arp bolts, new oil pump, water pump etc etc etc
chucked it in the bay day after getting it back, and now just working my way through my 'list' as i suspect most of you are
the last 2 pics are how it stands now, the fuel system, cooling system, boost pipes, breather set up, are all done, and most of the engine is plumbed in now, just waiting on a few clips and niggly stuff, plus a ofac map sensor (rare as fuck) then i got to make the brakes fit, and modify the bumper the fit on around the fan, for now anyways
