My saff 2wd daily
Hello every
Well I thought I will share my experience so far with my flint grey 2wd saff.
I'm not the best for writing but I have taken a lot of pics so far.
I'm sorry for the quality of the picture but I used a camera phone at the time. I hope you enjoy and any comments welcome.
This was it when I picked it up
After a few weeks of driving it this happened
So lucky me I work in a garage so got straight on with it but now I had no car so out came my baby
Turned out the head gasket was a little ill so no messing about and off with its head!
Here was the old head gasket
This was why it was not over heating
So thought while the head was off let's give it a clean up
Started stripping the head removed all the manifolds etc
A clean up and a lick of paint
I then removed all the valves and started lapping them all back in.
A before and after of the seats
New seats cut in
My valves before
After
The heads was in good nick and all it needed was a good rub down
This was the stat housing
Looks like the seal was doing its job! Lol
It's getting there
So next off with the stem seals
In with the new
Valves back in
Checked they were all sealed
And was perfect
So thought I would give the water pump a check
So a new gen one was ordered
Most of the parts was ordered with Matt Lewis Motorsport
Cometic head set
Group a head gasket
So now strip and clean the in let with new gaskets etc
Before
After
Ordered a full coolant hose kit and fitted
In with the exhaust manifold
New gaskets and nuts and studs gen
Inlet back on
I have changed every sensor on the car with a full sensor kit from Matt Lewis
I was bored one day so treated myself to these
Head back on (with new head bolts)
I then painted the rocker cover
With new Motorsport ht leads too
So I was bored with the way the brakes looked with my wheels so a little upgrade
Before
And after
Im happy with that
Head all back together and running sweet
Before
And after
Fitted a new header tank too and strut tops
Got me a new rouse splitter
Fitted
The brakes with the wheels on
Plus I have given it a full service
I used shell 5w 40
Used all gen parts for the service
Some of the car done
I have fitted orange indicators now
Before
After
Hope you have enjoyed it guys cos even that it has giving me a little trouble it is still a pleasure to work on and I enjoy every minute of everyday driving this car.
Any comments and questions welcome.
Thanks

Thanks for the comments
I have just got me a airtec 500 style intercooler now and will post a pick of it up soon.
What would be the best place to get a turbo heat shield from?

Not much of a update just a few pics of the car as it is now.
Get a few bits to fit now. Got a airtec intercooler, swirl pot, 044 pump and braided loom and I will be getting my turbo sent off to cr turbos for a Hybrid stage 2.
Anyway pics
I love this place
This was a Pleasure to work on
Bumped into this on the way to work
Hoped you liked the pictures
