cheers mate
You didn't think you'd get away with more than a day without me tracking down your updates.
SO GOOD, to see that the rebuild is now fully underway. Looks like those 16 years of keeping it in a nice heated garage, and three days of getting covered in Waxoyl really did pay off. That floor looks exactly like it did when I bought the car in 1991 when she was just three years old. PERSONALLY - I'd just clean it up and touch up where necessary, leaving it as original as possible to the eye.
Battery - Undecided ! ! ! ! I like you love things looking clean and minimal, so totally see where your coming from.
Meanwhile, I'm so looking forward to seeing the updates.

hi jim
i knew you wouldnt be far away lol,but the rebuild will be going along at a good pace from now on i promise
the floor is 99% jim with only a few scabs here and their .the jacking points need straightening out a bit but thats about it
i am going to take off the sideskirts to have a little look behind and rewaxoil.
you will be glad to know with a little persuasion from some people i wont name on here ,the floors will be .............
kept original ,and just tidied up and new waxoil applied
the battery is definatley going to the boot and as much wiring hidden away as possible

hi pete
happy new year to you and yours too mate
one of the reasons i put up this rebuild thread was to take advice from like minded people ,to hopefully stop me making any rash decisions to the detrement of the car .i am going to keep the floor as standard and paint/powdercoat everything underneath in stock ford colours and see how it looks .if i dont like it it can be changed ,however if i paint it first their is no going back and i may kick myself in the future .
the battery howeve is definatley going out of sight lol
i hope it turns out as i envisaged all them years ago when i bought it mate lol
i think it may look identical to yours somehow

i have to agree with you mate ,if a lot more safffs were looked after as well as this their would be a lot more of them left on the roads today
i will be keeping it for sure lol
thanks smiler ,as the car was so well minded it changed the brief from a restoration to rebuild ,which is so much easier

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Looking good James it is very tidy under there..... If it was mine id paint the floor and deffo move the battery.... But if the floor comes up really good as its looking like it will id be in 2 minds whether to paint it or not... so undecided at the mo...
The battery tho has to be moved as if you want a clean look the way the wirring is on a saph it always looks out of place.....
And no hassle at all for the lend of the jig its good to see it put to some good use lol...

Moving the battery will still leave the rest of the messy Cosworth wiring though?
I'd agree with what doing you are planning on some engines, but IMO it's impossible to make a YB bay look uncluttered. So if you can only unclutter one area, what's the point in going to all that hassle?

i agree paul ,it will be difficult i know but sometimes its the small things make the difference[ask the wife ]
it will never be the most powerful,or concours so making it more individual will make up for it hopefully.
anyway its only a few hours to move the battery,
thanks rob
it makes it bloody easy mate ,i dont think i would ever do it any different in the future

i cant believe its being this long since i updated this
anyways floor is now finished[kept standard] and started to waxoil it tonight ,although messy looking it kept the car 100% over the last 20 year so hopefully it will do the same again
at least i wont cry if it gets caught out in the rain
i decided to waxoyl the petrol of the tank also
more updates in the next six months lol
