I bolted up the dashboard and got all the wiring in place, just waiting for my new bonnet release cable before I put the dash cluster in

I got my new bonnet cable, fitted it then put the cluster and surround on. Started connecting the wiring for the stalks and then I realised I couldn't find the wiring plug for the horn. So then I had to take it all back out and spent about an hour trying to find it, turns out it was right beside the ignition wires hidden behind the dash

Anyway after that I put everything back together, put the surround on the sunroof handle and put the light into the glovebox. I'm hoping to sort out the screen wash bottle and pump tomorrow, make sure all the lights are working properly and try fit the front seatbelts.

I've been busy today, fitted the seatbelts, soundproofing and I've got the carpet in place. Just stopped for some lunch and going back out. I'm hoping to get the seats in and then the centre console and try find a screen wash pump.

I finished putting together all the seatbelt stuff and put the drivers seat in the car, put the sill trims on and fitted the centre console. I managed to find a screen wash pump so put that and the jets on and I wired up the number plate light. Almost done everything for the MOT now

It's been a busy week so haven't had time to update this but here's what's been happening.

Last Saturday I took the car for an MOT and it passed!

So since then I've been trying to finish the rest of the stuff, first was the bodykit

I put the passenger seat in and tried the rear seats aswell but I don't have the right brackets for the sides so I'll need to buy some.

Looking good.
Where did you get the rear light bulb holders, they look new!?

I had the same grief with the brackets fitting my rear seats. Typically, I've stripped my interior out now and binned the brackets else you could of had them!

I got them brand new on eBay they came with a new plug aswell but I haven't gotten round to wiring them yet, I just used the bulb holders. I think they were about Ł35.

I didn't realise the seat brackets were different between the different years, I've been looking on eBay and some other places but haven't found any yet, it's typical that you've just binned a set

I've been busy the past couple of days, I finally gave the car a good wash!

I thought I'd better change the timing belt aswell so I started stripping the belt and tensioner. I have a spare engine and it had a piper vernier cam pulley on so I thought I'd put that on my car, I took it off then looked at the cam and it was a piper 285t so I took that and the followers out and put them into my car my cam and followers were worn and noisy but now the engine is sounding nice and quite

I did an oil change and changed the turbo oil feed on Thursday, then yesterday I took the car to a local tuner for a check up to make sure fuelling was all good. We didn't manage to do much though because my new oil pipe was leaking so I ordered a new one when I got home and fitted a bleed valve so we could adjust the boost.

I got the new pipe today, new genuine ford rear wheel cylinders and a set of tailored mats so I changed the oil feed first and made sure it wasn't leaking, which it wasn't and then I changed the silicon vacuum hose going to the boost gauge with the cotton braided one and painted the timing belt cover and fitted it. Just got to make another appointment to finish setting up the car now

Anyway, here's some pictures

I'm using Colin Linklater from Linkmap Performance, he really knows his stuff and yeah I'm hoping to enter into the drag race, it's on the 21st of this month

I bought some heat wrap and lagged the exhaust and the bottom half of the charge carrier, I'm hoping it'll help to keep the engine bay temperature down

Have done anything to the car for a while now, been busy with other stuff but I've got a few things in hoping to get done in the next week or 2. I bought an exhaust manifold that I'll send away to get ceramic coated during winter and I got a flywheel cover plate, another silly wee thing that was missing.

Here's a few pictures of the parts I bought

Mint car. Spotted it in town recently. A lot of work gone into rebuilding it. What are you doing with the grey one?

Thanks, I'm planning a full resto to the grey one. Hoping to start it next year, would start earlier but have a few things to do to the white one during the winter.

Car looks very tidy now! Where did you get the replacement chip from? Looks like a powerchip...is it 165bhp one?

Thanks, it's a 195 Evolution chip from Motorsport Developments. When you buy the chip you tell them the spec of your car and they'll adjust the map on it

Have an interesting update, I bought an Apexi AVC-R and had it set up by Linkmap. I'm so happy with it, much better than the bleed valve and actually have proper boost control now

We got it set at 1 bar on the low boost setting and 1.4 bar on the high boost, car feels a lot quicker now.
