hello people been on here a while no and thought i would show you lot what ive been up to with my car!

started as a box std 1.4L H reg escort escort estate MK4 decided to go down the sleeper route and lowered it on 15" steels and fitted a 2.0 silvertop with RS turbo gear box, and fell in love with the car from then on! a little while later i had a little bump at the front!

so decided to do a resto on it! and a plan to go faster with boost!! i love the look of the MK3 escort especially the RS1600i so decided to fit it up with MK3 panels to get the look of a MK3 RS1600i escort estate road legal track car!

will post a few pics of the work i have done so far body work, hope you enjoy my work im about 75% done now have a look!

thanks for the interest people! umm ive got a brand new set of ambers cant make up my mind what to run! lol as for wheels im goin to run them voodoos but will be painted anthracite very soon as i need 17" to clear the brakes on the front, but need to save up for sum comps!

 

o yer as for the gearbox ive got a ib5 with the s2 LSD fitted see how it goes! fingers crossed!

 

another update from today last nite the nearside rear quarter got repainted due to a small reaction. also the tailgate got a coat of paint fitted it up today and the rest of the door glass! looking good now it looks like a car again! take a look










also got the sump back yesterday from having the oil return union tiged welded to it


will give it a lick of paint tomoz

hello mate love your builds i see your RS1600i van on hear a little while back it what convinced me it would be a easy conversion to change it to mk3! thanks fella, love the work on the saff! top job!

 

Think this is the route im going down as sod paying 600 quid + for a Quaife and ebay auctions of them seem to have dried up.

Did you have to shave 1mm off the outer diameter of the LSD? Which Ib5 did you go for?
