I wasn't goin to cos it never had one on? So never even thought about it! An to be honest I was considerin not runnin a front one either as someone told me my car will handle and turn in better without it! But was gonna try it without an then try it with to see which I like better! Did you notice a big difference with the rear ARB then?

cheers

Honestly, yer massive, I'm in the middle of building a cabby turbo at the moment and the rear ARB was 1st on the list of things to do.
On my last one I almost span the car 3 times at the same point on a slow down hill road, 1st time I thought it was something wrong with the car so did the same road again and it did the same, after getting the car up in the air to check everything was ok and did a bolt checking session I tried it again and the same. After fitting the ARB I tried it again a few times and was fine, even with a bit more speed.

Yeah an no! I've sold the original engine I built, and bought a new blacktop crate motor. I'm gonna run this for a while, get some management sorted an let the missus drive it etc an then I'm gonna turbo it. I'm still fitting the FRS box, so I don't have that issue once I decide to turbo it further down the line!

Sounds good, they are a different class with a zetec turbo under the bonnet, best thing I did to mine. Wish I had the focus rs box in tbh.

Yeah I bet they are! I'm a bit gutted when I read thru this an seen what I'd done an bought etc! At the time I needed some cash an because I still needed a turbo an management etc it seemed like a good idea!! Once its on the road an useable, I will be lookin to do it then I reckon! Yours go well then?

Waterpump is touching the inner wing, and rocker cover isnt straight to the front panel :-( So hopefully I plan to remove the gearbox mount and get the bush moved approx 10mm forward which hopefully will straighten everythin up an move the waterpump pulley offt the inner wing!

I wonder could you weld another plate or spacer to move the engine forwards a touch. I do see what you mean regarding moving the bush on the gearbox mount. Should the gearbox mount have been welded further forward to begin with?

Hope you get sorted.

I hope so too!! TBH, I had all the mounts mocked up with a silvertop motor, but then switched to a blacktop assumin everythin would still be alright so could possibly be me error!! I hope movin gearbox mount fixes as It was a pig gettin it in without scratchin/damagin inside the engine bay an dont really wanna drop the engine out again!!

How close is your waterpump pulley? could you post a pic for comparisson?

Cheers

Crazycage modded my standard mount and I also spaced it forwards a bit more. I think your engine is deffo sat a bit further back than mine and deffo closer to the inner wing, which could be caused by the gearbox mount position too.

Could you support the engine on a trolley jack and unbolt the mount from the engine and try spacing/moving it forwards a touch before you start modding the gearbox mount?

Although mine is zvh and sliver top I've got a mtx in and I put a 10mm spacer in the engine mountain. Have you tried your driver shafts in my inner cv joints where just about touching the chassis leg where the bottom arm bolts to.

No not tried them yet

Will ave to try an line them up before I do anythin else! A few people have said to space the engine mounting forward, however when I originally looked into it no one had!

Hopefully this weekend I'm gonna trey an remove the engine mount with the engine on a trolley jack, move it 10mm ish forward and see if everythin lines up ok, fingers crossed it does!!
