Default escort van sleeper or kitted ????

Im in a dilemma with my van after looking on Google & doing a bit of reaearch

I was originally going to bodykit it & spray it black with green alloys & st stripes etc

Then i thought jewel violet is a lovely colour & the van would look sweet in that

now my dilemma is do i fully cossie kit it with a wrc bumper & cossie arches etc or leave it standard looking but with a nice quality spray job
& make it into a innocent looking sleeper

its sat on mondeo 15" alloys at min in bt grey but i hate the bloody colour
got gti seats n door cards elec windows etc

i got the tdi engine to fit too but its a bit chilly at min to do the conversion

i could do with some info from others thats done the same conversion regarding the exhaust as the non turbo exhaust is too narrow & car one dont fit the van

also has anyone fitted a front mount to a escort tdi van before
if so can the standard tdi inlet be used & what pipe work etc do ya need ?
Could a focus inlet be used as the cooler sits on the slam pannel

cheers in advance

Hi ya I've kept my van looking a bit sleeper type, it's been lowered, black 16inch Mondy alloys, big front mount mount behind bumper but I'm running a Zetec turbo engine, using fiesta turbo management, it's got my old s1 exhaust that I extended a bit by the fuel tank, hope this helps

My last van had a rst engine too
that had the cossie bumpers with cyclone wide arch skirt kit
18" alloys etc
i keep meaning to upload some pics of it as it was a nice looking van, that was imperial blue with a pearl top coat but i bought it like it
Wish id kept it to be honest

im thinking of just getting the few bits of bodywork done
& leaving the gti bumper on it but add something subtle like focus mk1 sill covers as my vans had the sils patched & aint ths best job lol
Then just get it painted in jewel violet like the escos Monte as i love the colour

I keep having a blast at photoshop to see what it will look like but my 10 yr old cud do better lol

i think a tidy standard van with a few less obvious mods like de locked doors
& things like washer jets smothed & relocated may look better than a full cossie kit lol

I bought a td exhaust just before Xmas just under Ł100 for the van I shall get you the details when I get home. As for your van is go sleeper style, fmic is possible but you need a few other pipes, there is a universal fmic kit eBay its Ł120 delivered thats the kit I have but I'm yet to fit it. I was told that I needed 2 reducer hoses and to more bits of straight pipe then its just a case of chopping the pipes to make it all fit.

Forget the wrc bumper and arches etc. Itll look pants I think. Good quality paint job in jewel violet. rs2000/ xr3i front bumper . You get the idea. Sleek is where its at. Escos bodykits leave them in max power. dead & buried

Example here

Think ya right about leaving the kit
would look a bit too chavy

as for banded steels i could just use some off a scorpio as there 15" & 4 stud

ive already got a rs2k/gti front bumper with fogs in
just need some side skirts that aint ova the top,
i know the early focus had plastic sill covers they didnt grab your attension either

let me know how ya get on with the front mount kit & if its a bitch to do or not

& the part nomber for the corect exhaust would be great as i was planning on just buying a 45 degree elbow & giving it a straight thru side exit with a stainless tip lol
any ideas on rear bumpers ??
Im wondering if its possible to use a bumper off a hatch or estate & chop it about a little to try n create a factoryish look

cheers for the advice & ideas
my Mrs will be pleased as iv bored her stupid going on about it

but now its just a case of saving the pennys to get it done

happy days :-D

The 1s off the new age transits are long & thin
Cant see why they wouldnt fit behind the lower grille in the front bumper
this way it would still retain its factory looks

if i fit a fmic thats the kind oc route il take
spray it satin black to blend in with the lower grille
So it dont stand out like a sore thumb ha ha
