Allright here we go
What a weekend it was over at Ronnie's place and Snetterton.
Got up at 6 Friday morning to pick up my 2 mates, then i saw this beauty parked up and could'nt resist to put mine behind it and made a pic
Drove of to the Eurotunnel and all went fine, as we entered the tunnel and shifted backfrom 5th to 4th i heard something was not ok with the gearbox and we thought this is it, put it in neutral and slowed down, then tried 1st ok, 2nd, ok, 3rd ok, do i thought get it on the train and go to Folkestone
Got of the train in Folkestone and all seemed ok again so the 1 hour journey to Ronnie continued and went ok untill Dartford Crossing the same problem was back
I thought just stay in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear and got to Ronnie somehow
Ronnie searched immediately for another T5 and Doug was happy to lend me his to get home as his car will only be ready in 2056 so not needed
So no relaxing but get the spanners out to get the gearbox off on Friday.
Always nice to have Ronnie's car in sight
Got the gearbox off at 8pm as 1 bolt would'nt come loose, think my mate tried for more then 2 hours to get it off and eventually he did
Ronnie picked up the box at Dougs place and some gearoil in the meantime and when he got back we bolted it on.
That was enough for 1 day so we got inside and had a nice BBQ
Started again Saturday morning to get it finished and go to Snetterton to watch Ronnie compete in Time Attack.
Job was done and all was packed ready for the testdrive to Snetterton which went spot on
Had a few beers with the team and went to sleep in the pitbox but ended sleeping in the car as it was freezing cold
Raceday.
A bit knackered but who cares, had breakfast and Ronnie went out for 1st practice which went well untill his left front wheelbearing collapsed and seized
So the guys had to search for a new wheelbearing, after some time it arrived and the guys repaired the car
Ronnie's dad
Car was now ready for Qualifying as 2nd practise was missed due to the wheelbearing.
Got 1st in qualifying and the car was absolutely flying around the track
After that confidence was back up and ready for the final
In the final Ronnie was pushing it hard, so hard he broke the shifter on his 2nd fast lap
Barry with the mic
This did not held Ronnie back and he was flying and set a time of 1.21.095, his fastest time of the day and well enough for 1st place again in the Final
Ride back to Ronnie
My Cossie with the Twins new Mondeo
I want to thank Ronnie for all his help and hospitality, you and Nic are the best mate, see you back for Brands
Also thanks to Doug for lending me his gearbox and the rest of the team for the great weekend, we really enjoyed it as always with you lot

I'm being very gentle with it Doug, it's a good gearbox mate (so far )
The bellhousing is still at Ronnie's

You only take your car for an inspection if the police pull you over and give you a defect notice!

Fark.
My insurance is about $500aud a year.
So all up about $1000aud or 700euro a year to keep the car on the road.
BP ultimate is around $1.60aud which is 1.12euro. I work for BP too and get discount.
We dont get snow either.
But I cant drive to the UK or Nurburgring!
