ok peeps , update as of today 4-3-11
with the inner sill sections done , k got on with the floor to sill section that was cut out ,
old and new
spotwelded in
then fully welded inside car
welded , ground and oxided
been sealed , once the sealer hardens , the center brace and seat mount will be refitted
with that done , attention was turned to the pass inner wing area
inner wing to front panel revealed some rot
so this
to this
to this
and tahh dahh
and with that out the way ,
the bumper mount section was foooooooked lol
cant be bought as replacement panel , so karl fabricated one
old and new
and hes been genrallys tidying any grubby areas up ect ,

looking realy good going to be a minter of a shell when finished,karl is realy good at what he does what carnt he make out of metal,thats why mines going there soon hopefully not so much rot this time.

Gotta say how chuffed I am to have spesh doing the graft
Though after a discussion today with him spesh has expressed his concern at the sheer level of adulation he is receiving and so I have to retract my previous statement and declare him as a mere welding demi-god !

lil update works moving on ,
just finding more lil bits of rot here n there ,
awaiting panels for the rear , once there here the sill can be fitted
seat structure refitted
rot where the abs sensors are mounted
out

top work as ever fellas,just didnt realise how much there was to do,i knew the kit hid some but its always surprising
gave up on that other guy getting the rear inner arches (and the shitty piss-poor o/s wing) and have tried another place where i got the sills from

update - 9-3-11
works been slowed up slightly , still waiting on a few repair panels arriving - dont help when the pillocks send the panel to daz and and managed to send the wrong side lol
so trying to keep moving forward ,
drivers wings been removed
now the inner structure / wing support . bumper mount bracket was rusted to bits !!!! ,
this
as with most things sierra lol , totally obsolete !!!!
so what do u do ...... you make a new one lol
flattend for template
bit of folding , swaging , and skill
trial fit .
oxided
spotwelded bk into position
also started assessing the condition of the drivers inner arch , looks to be in better shap then the pass ,
cleaning and prepping of holes ect , few minor areas need rust treatment ,
hopefully should see some panels arrive before the weekend to allow sill and pass wing to go bk on !!

STILL waiting on panels lol .. comes with the joys of not know what your getting into till you start lol
anyway , pass front turret had been repaired badly lol

ohh and the signature bolt on battery trays been done
drilled off at the spotwelds ,
extra spotweld holes were filled as was on the bulkhead ,
then tray was blasted and oxided
as was bulkhead , with the addition of 4 m6 rivnuts
threads visable thru tray
eaiser to paint , clean ect ect ,
more to follow when parts arrive

ordered 1x n/s front inner arch to be sent up to spesh-1x o/s front inner arch turns up...at my house,then find out can`t get one
order 2x rear inner arches-email to say problem with one,i tell em to send whichever one they have for the moment and ask which is the one they sending (hoping its the o/s) nope its the n/s
in the meantime try SAS for n/s rear arch who say they can get one-go in to pay for it to be told no they cant
rang Benfield in Leeds to try get n/s inner arch,yes says parts boy heres the part no-go into local Benfield to order it-no mate they say thats the plastic `shit shield` we cant get that panel
so all in all
regards panel supply
just hope orriginal supplier of sills & rear inner arch can get n/s one soon
