the breather is in the way at the front for the manifold he is using.
it has standard valve springs.
The escort sump is required for the exhuast he is using.

Any chance you could take detailed pics with instructions on how to re-assemble the head? This place doesn't seemto have a zetec engine build guide?

If you mean putting the valves and stem seals in then im affraid they are already back together, this enginee is not getting a re-build, only a freshen up and drop in compression, a quick check while its appart too. I took off a big end cap and the shell is absolutly mint as is the crank, zetecs are nearly always nice, unlike some other engines in the ford family!

Well happy mate! Unbelievably fast work and no doubt of excellent quality. Just a few more parts to send up and i'm well on my way to Zetec heaven just got to make sure the car itself gets the same quality of workmanship as its engine!

You would have to ask Richochet as he supplied it, But Mike at ferriday Engineering does top quality aluminium ones for around 120 quid (alu is my preference, but i have used steel with good results also).

The decomp plate was bought second hand from a guy in Dundee. Think i paid Ł60 for it. I'll list everything i've bought plus where i sourced it from on my resto thread later.

A zetec is not really different from building any other engine mate, they are all much and such the same idea, if you can do one then you can do the other, ive re built nissan sr20det, cvh, zvh, zetec, renault, peugeot engines, they are all similar TBH, the basics are all the same.

Cool, just got the manifold adaptors to bolt on, and finish modding the water pump hole (its mostly finished), then as you say cam kit, rocker cover and oil pick up pipe/sump. Then she is all yours mate!

2 litre 16v turbo, about 7.5;1 compression ratio, prob max boost of about 12-15 psi with the std pistons/decomp plate. Should make well over 200bhp at that, the limiting factors are clutch and gearbox in this application, so i would think Ricki will run less boost, and have a nice reliable engine?

What did you bond the compression plate onto the block with? Much better than using 2 head gaskets

Not soo much bonded, just sealed, the two bits of steel/cast are soo flat that they would almost seal metal to metal, i used hermatite, but hylomar works too, its such a microscopic layer that most sealants would do TBH. Worth noting that ive used aluminium decomp plates before, i think they are slightly more compliant, with these i put the gasket on the block and decomp on the head. Both methods work well though in my experiance. Never used two gaskets before, certainly thought about it though.

Good stuff. Went to get the oil pick up from Ryan in Leuchars and it turns out he doesn't have the engine any more! I'll find one somewhere though.

Cool, its not the end of the world, you can always bolt it on and then the sump when you get one, the block has been modded for the silver top pump, just waiting on the belt kit to finish that side of things, then the cam cover can go on

My oh so sexy polished cam cover? lol. I'll try and get through this weekend with the box of bits you need to get it finished too. Supposed to be heavy snow on Thursday though so I'll have to play it by ear ,) < thats an ear btw.

thats the new belt and tensioners on, and the water pump on. I had to make the hole in the block bigger and drill and tap some holes fo the tensioner and water pump. Also fitted the exhaust manifold adaptor with some new bolts and bolted on the cam cover, just got the inlet adaptor to do now and then its finished! when you get an oil pick up ricki im pretty confident you can bolt it up and put on the sump for good, just a few screws there mate, anyway, here is a few more pics.
