I have decided to to do a cheep upgrade on the rear brakes.
So I have got hold of some octavia vrs rear calipers and then sand blasted them.
Here's what they looked like when they arrived.
And then after blasting them.
And here's a pic of the blast cabinet
And a pic of the compressor
It's nice to have a road compressor supplying a constant 1000 psi.

Im seriously thinking about getting one of these, out of interest - are the modded new parts expensive compared to RS/Cosworth parts?
Looks good BTW

Here is a list of parts and prices.
Car Ł1000
Coilovers kw v3 Ł1200
Front brakes Ł750 + vat
Anti roll bars Ł320
Polybushes Ł110
Wheels and tyres Ł1000
Rear brakes Ł130
Seats and harnesses Ł650
The engine is standard but in the future will be going for more power.
I would say they are cheaper to tune as the standard running gear can take big power.

I have heard of some taking big power on standard internals and some snapping rods after a remap. I'm not going to take the risk not for Ł280 plus the vat for steel rods.
Bet you Ibiza was fuckin quick with that much power.

Slightly different mate block and ancillary wise, different turbo ic's etc, however alot of bams pushing 300lbft with simple bolt ons and remaps. Rods are extremely adviseable especially with the huge boost spikes these turbos seem to produce.

Not posted in this thread for a while as I have just been enjoying the car as it is. But now it's far to slow and I'm in need of a lot more power.
So I have bought a AGU engine of eBay and have just started to strip it.

I'm going to change the crank for the 2.0 tfsi crank and bore the block making it 2008cc then use either a gtx30 or borgwarner efr 7670.
Just had a look at your project thread your mk1 is awesome.
