Been working away so not really done much this year!
Started cleaning the floor and cill.
Hole in cill!!
When some bellend jacked it up on the floor it has caused damage to the floor pan. Over time, shite has got in and started the rott..
So, cut it out and start fresh..
Im not a pro welder/ fabricator so much time was spent pondering on a plan. I didnt want it to look like a dogs dinner underneath. Wanted it to look like no new floor- pan has been put in.
Got the new steel in and ground down. Seam- sealed and ready for some 3m mastic.
Started doing the cill aswell but the pics i took were crap..
Hopefully get a bit more time on it when i get from holiday!!

Thanks for the comments chaps.
Not that much rust considering its age. The only other tiny bits are a few bubbles on the arch, not bad but will be dealt with.
If the car hadn't been jacked up by a dickhead then the floorpan would have been mint.

The saff has now been turned around, jacked up on axle stands and I started on the passenger side.
I took the seats home and treated them with Glyptone leather restorer. They call up well and the leather has softened up.
I took the side skirt off to reveal the shite and waxoyl. I was pleased to see it didn't drop to bits...
New clips ordered straight away.
Then the petrol and girlfriends toothbrush came out for the rigorous cleaning.
Small hole in the floor
Small hole in the outer sill
So there are only 3 small patches to weld up, hope it doesn't take me 12 months to do!!!

The holes got bigger as I poked about...... anyway, hole today, gone tomorrow (hopefully)
The dark grey shit surrounding is a brush on rust eater, applied it to protect the bare metal whilst I pull the finger out to get it welded!
Should have it ready for mastic by the weekend.

Not really. Just the few patches, then mastic, paint and waxoyl.
Then off to the bodyshop for a bit of paint.
Gearbox needs removing and painting then mot...

Cheers Glenn. I used 3m 08851. I bought an air canister and sprayed it on. I was quite surprised with it, never expected the finish it gave.

I will sell the gun when I've finished with it. ..
I'm hoping to have it on the road for early August, just got to get a good turn around at the body shop.

Started to paint the drivers side floorpan. I had to mask off the passenger side. When this side is finished I will put the bumpers etc back on (when back from the paint shop) and get an mot........ then gearbox out for painting and paint the transmission tunnel.
I just need a good friend and a car ramp!
Got the mastic and primer on yesterday.

Well, after nearly 6 years its back on the road. Passed the mot with a minor advisory....
Feels weird driving it, a bit shonky and rickety...
Its had the cam belt, tensioner and aux belt changed and the wheels tracked.
The guy in the tyre garage nearly shot his load when he saw the underneath and started talking money straight away. I would be mortified seeing it round the corner after selling it, but if he coughs up the readys then it goes...
