Default Mk6 Fiesta 1.4

hi all i got a Mk6 Fiesta 1.4 as my first car, ive desided to show you all the stages of my project. It had a Cat C crash, it had most of its front end re-built with the facelift bumpers and headlights, it has also had ZS seats put in.
I will update as i go.

The first thing i did to it was change the headunit and installed a 12" Edge Sub + amp and later on i added two 6 x 9 speakers to my parcel shelf run from a 640 watt Alpine amp, soon i will change the door speakers with Type R Alpines.

On the 30-01-10 i received my K&N panel filter to replace the rotting one left in the box
i was going to go with pipercross but from what ive heared K&N seems to be the best.

Ive received a set of gell overlays need to fit them but due to poor weather havent been able to soo..
il post pics as soon as i have fitted them, the look good in the packets but should look much better on mi car

Ive finaly fitted the gell overlays look amazing .
The passenger front wheel was egged shaped i thought about buying a new one but managed to get it refurbed along with the rest to black.
Ive also replaced the battery box due to the old one being smashed.

With the New refurbed alloys, also notice i have painted the front brake calipers red, they stand out very well.

I will soon be changing the discs to EBC, any fit a set of lowering springs approximately 30mm, i also am planning on buyin the Fiesta ST500 body vinyl for the bonnet and the side stripes.

Default 1.4 Mk6 Zetec

Very nice so far mate, i have just brought a 1.4 MK6 zetec too.

Just one quick question about the stereo. I have a stereo that is fitted into 3 compartments (standard install). Im looking on installing my JVC stero which is a single din stero like yours in the photo. What panel did you purchase for your fiesta and was it hard to install?

Iv'e had problems with my tracking on my car, i took it to Jet tyres and they said my near side steering rack bar was bent

I managed to purchase a new one for about £20.00, fitted it now and had the tracking sorted so all good now.

Default update

hey all, ive had a couple of problems latley, firstly the slave cylinder had melted and then the speed sensor over heated an bubbled up all fixed now.

I bought the sensor for £15 and the slave cylinder for £44 not bad prices to be quiet honest i also purchased a engine coolent cap for £2 from ford spares and also someone in my local area was selling mk6 fiesta parts so i scavenged an upper strut brace for £40. Some new pics of car aswell

more to come ...

Default update 20-07-10

well first off I HAVE NO INSURANCE !!! so this gives me time to sort out all the little things that need doing, a friend of mine wanted to go to the scrap yard for a throttle body, i managed to find a whole load of fezas, had a rumage and found a few bits:

front fog lights wiring loom
plastic passenger foot well kick plate
centre consol with 12v socket + cap
passenger mirror handle housing

i wanted a different horn because i didn't like the standard one, i like the sound of the renault clios so whilst in the scrap yard i pinched on from a deceased clio

Ive also purchased some other bits, i bought some ice white side lights for £10, i was told these particlular ones were designed and released by Audi, so i gave them a shot and i was impressed .
I got hold of about 3 metres of matt black vinyl from metamark for £5, i used a small strip for a sun stripe. after fitting it i cut it about 10mm too short, i wanted it to cover the spots around the rear mirror bracket but hey i bought enough to do it again.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Now all it needs is a nice wash + wax oh and to sort insurance!

Hey man,

very interested in what you are doing here. Also just bought a mk6 fiesta. Got the 1.6 16v two door with a sport kit.

Corners well, but not off the mark - did that performance filter help alot or not so much?

Also, I have a problem with the throttle body and coils. Cost 300 pound (R3000.00 South Africa currency) to fix.

Default Update 02-03-2011

Hey all been long since i last updated, well first off i got hold of 1 Ltr panther black for nothing so i decided to paint all the nasty orange peel plastic and add the GTI red pin stripe on the front and rear of the bumpers.

I also have purchased a new rear valance from (K33VRN) cant wait to recieve it so i can spray that black and it fitted . One last mod i have done is install a push start button on the dash which works and looks awesome

Next thing really is to repaint the bumpers and passenger side wing, also need to get hold of a pair of electric facelift wings mirrors and then onto exhaust + HIDS .

Yes it needs lowering, 35mm Eibach or H&R springs will improve the handling and looks no end.

The rear stub axle spacers are worth doing to, moves the rear wheels out giving a wider track, so the car feels more stable at speed, but the wheels are slightly further out so they fill the arches much more (to fit them basically involves taking the hub off the rear beam and putting the spacer in then refitting the hub with longer bolts). For around £30 for the parts its well
worth doing! Here's my Mk6 St....

Unlike most STs mines on 16 inch wheels, same size as the Zetec S (it handles and rides far better on the 16s than the standard 17 inch ST wheels), but you can see how a 35mm drop improves the stance!

Default Update 19-03-2011

well Ive been scrappy again and found the facelift mirrors and inserts, i also got the switch, plastic housings and steering shroud with the stalk adapter. The wiring looms i fitted were for the pre-facelift mirrors so i cut off the plugs at scrappy and soldered them together and made them work, just need the power fold switch and relay to finish them off.

I have now recieved my rear diffuser, looks really good im still in the middle of spraying it plus the mirror inserts, just need a cat back exhaust so it suits the cut out. I might change my head unit back to fords orginal for the stalk to work but this means i cant use the AUX for ipod, i can still have subs with flis audio adapter and buy the PARROT MKi9200
and use bluetooth.

I will update as soon as i have finished the colour coding and possible the power fold mirrors
