i did the priming coat and masking, and flattening back. i have done all the repairs on it and its been a nice learning curve to see what i can do and cant do, mostly though the vans looking good, apart from a couple of mistakes and low levels of primer on a couple parts, its been not too bad. not making excuses on the van but for my first time i think i did not too bad but still a long way to go before im time served and able to do jobs how i really want to, to perfection 8-)

the boss painted it, al be it in a hurry due to having a workshop crammed for the next 3 weeks completely full of insurance jobs that MUST be done before mine, so time was limited.

there are runs that need buffed out on the lacquer and a couple of repairs are not how i want it, but i have no choice im out of the House of Kolour stuff now so ive no choice to leave it or spend another £400 painting it.... so until the winter time it will stay like this as i have more things to worry about on it than some problems with the paintjob........like getting a new mot on it and sorting out the inside and suspension out!

paint this time around is a white basecoat with HOK Gemini 0006 flip paint topcoat which has more or less turned it into a metalflake paintjob. subtley done you dont notice it until you see it outside in certain light conditions, but it looks pretty good. kit will be painted monday or tuesday as im away to autosport so its going to be a big bloody hour week tomorrow to get the car ready for the first meet! it better bloody make it! lol

the van will NEVER be a minter ive never planned to have it like that as a daily driver its hopeless and with the age of the car. however things can be improved on the paintjob outside, not this year though, if i still have it next year or plan to then it will be done again, if not then i will hopefully have an XR2i 16v or RS1800i hopefully!

anyways enough............ pictures....

all for now. kit will be done next week and fitted, new momo arrows coming too with brand spanking new tyres, so its getting there now

was going to be at autosport this weekend which put this on the back burner, but the old mans just been in a smash and cut out the focus, so thats on hold..... luckily he's all checked out and hes only suffering from busted pride and a sore back.

so first thing tomorrow we're going to pick up the momo arrows im sticking onto the car, and then i'll be ordering my lowering springs for the van as well.

front end will be assembled and ready apart from bumpers by around tuesday wednesday time and the kit fitted end of the week in time for the fiestaclubscotland first year meet at halbeath leisure park (hopefully!)

front and rear bumpers are back on the car, looking for new front foglights though as 2 are cracked

cheers folks, been talking to the bank manager (missus) and im thinking about firing on a set of front and rear strut braces, just for show???? maybe for now, but eventually they MAY be for a purpose end of the year

got a set of subs for the rear today, and should have a new tyre and spacers for the alloys to fit as well end of the week. then its MOT time and see what it fails on (fingers will be crossed tighltly here for no welding needed!)

escort cossie rs boss arrived today, so going to swap over the s2 boss to this now and fit it to the van.

spacers are bought, so i'll get the front wheels fired on shortly with a new tyre for the one wheel thats sligthly bald from its RST boosting days

bonnet and kit are flattened back and will be painted shortly, have just enough house of kolour left to do the kit maybe 1 layer on them, slightly lighter on the arches and skirts, but 2 layers on the bonnet so it matches the rest.

got early mirrors fitted but theyre black, leave them black or colour code them as well as the rest of the kit? not sure what looks best with them. suggestions for other work if you think of any too would be more than welcome

all for now, more later on this week!

not a lot happened with this its been lying outside at work recently, need to tidy a couple small bits up shortly and the kit to be fitted, might get it done this week if we have a spare couple of hours at night to fire some paint onto it.
