Series One Rs Turbo - REBUILD
Decided to start tinkering with the car and due to the wiring issue with no dash lights, begin to replace some parts. New wiring loom for ignition has been purchased along with a new Lucas Indicator stalk and sender module for dash.
The engine bay as previous posts have stated was to have a de-blinging session.
This has begun and I have all the parts on there way to turn it from bling back to standard look.
Some items will remain for now and I have tweeked them some what.
Todays addition was the Bailey tank and new level sender, along with black bonnet stay and replacement grommit and clip.

Im enjoying it thats for sure...
A HUGE thank you to TWINS for sourcing the mother of all MINT cambelt cover and airbox. These should arrrive this week too. Cheers Boys

Not forgot the HT leads, just forgot I have a Fiesta...

For the leads your best to call JKM and ask for them to sort a set mate. I cannot find the spare set I have. They will however have the lengths etc to sort you a set out.

Festa is being worked on aswell but its Winter build pace on that one.

Who said I was going for originality !!!!

Ebay add said Mk3 Escort...
If its wrong what does the right one look like please Judge Neil Beefy I shall bell you soon and make a list.
SMALL UPDATE
Car got its slam panel and rocker cover painted this weekend.
Luke got excited and wanted to help mix paint!

All wrapped up.

Rocker cover before colour.

Luke couldnt wait to fit the new lights.

...Or the stickers!

car still has wiring issues...not sure on when they will get dealt with though.

Good job hun
We also painted the colour plate on slam panel which due to being painted from factory hid the numbers..
Once I attacked it with the wire wheel it was back to metal and the numbers/letters un marked and as clear as they were first stamped.
Trip to the scrap yard Saturday to get some original parts which will be dropped to zinc platers this week. Slowly but surely replacing most things
EBAY has almost everything! Old and New...
One thing of which is I need to address the wiring, possibly a fuse or relay or just manky wiring...
We have no dash lights, side lights indicators of the stalk, reverse lights and all clock functions.
Car is tucked away for a few weeks now.

Thanks mate
I have removed some of the interior to check wires but as yet have not looked behind the speaker. I shall have a look at weekend when I get a chance. Thank you for the heads up on where to look though

Dont worry mate Il be there to at least give you some competition
Popping to JKM tomorrow night to check on things with the trolley.
Few bits done last night, more removed however rather than fitted.
Also attempted to remove the throttle body linkage / springs
what a fail that was....
Broke it!
Christain kindly sold me one though! Arrives tomorow...
Always someone making money out of a natural disaster!!!!
Dropped a bag of parts (minus the above) to the platers today to have plated in the original silver zinc or gold zinc plating.
Anyway here it is to date. Blue samcos will be leaving us shortly

You don't hang about do you luke?!
If I were you I'd take th interior trims out and check the earths as said. My car was dry stored 10 years and the earths were still in a shit state and giving me problems! The one in the driver footwell and the one by the wiper motor were the worst. Dry and powdery about 6 inches up the wires under the sleeving.
