Default Capri 2.8 Injection Restoration

Hi all,

Thought i'd post up some pics of my latest project and it's a kinda cool old skool motor .... i just love my Capri's. This is my third Caspian Blue over Silver 2.8 Injection over the years and i can't wait to make her right again!

I found the car advertised on a Capri forum and it was local so rung the number and it turns out that the guy had owned her from 1200 miles old and bought her from KT Ford at Dartford back in early 1986. He'd moved out to Singapore with his job in 1999 and parked the car in the garage and there she sat until this weekend gone when i got her (she stil had her 99 expiry disc in the window. The guy had moved back to the UK and was having some building work done to his house (an extension that was going to bite into his garage space) so decided to let the Capri go. She has covered 91'000 miles under Karl's ownership and he'd always had her seviced at the same garage and it came with most of her old MOT's, service book and manuals from new. The KT Ford sticker is still in the back window, all the glass and lights are etched with the registration from new and she's 100% standard aside from a naff 80's Hitachi digital stereo which still works! The bonnet has been painted before (someone put a metal dustbin on it when he came out rom work one day ) but aside from that she's not seen any paint. Needs a bit of TLC in some areas and is a non runner at the mo but ultimately she's as solid as a rock in the usual rust spots and a 2 owner car with good history so a great base to start off with IMO. Originally she was advertised for £750 but i managed to pick her up for £300 so that made me all the more pleased! Plans include to get some 2" lowering blocks and a nice beefy pair of Magnex exhausts. I have some 280 Brooklands wheels too that i might get refurbed in order to fit a Brembo 300mm brakf conversion. What you guys reckon?

As someone whos had several two eights I would agree with everyone else and say leave it totally standard. I would love it as my Saph came from KT and together they would make a lovely pair .

Cheers Gaz
