it cost me in total i project managed it my self shopped about for the materials and got people i know in to do various parts of the build £11000 inc block paving which cost £1800 and moving all the soil and digging out £1600 so the garage on its own cost £7600.

Did you get that passed as permitted development?

The workshop (in my garden) is 8.8m (29ft) wide x 14m (46ft) long. Ridge height is bang on 4m. It is made from galvanised steel and sits on 60 tonnes of reinforced concrete.
Mine was approved under permitted development laws in 2002/3.

Garage area is approx 125m2
Bungalow area is approx 82m2
Plot is around 0.27acre

At the time the garage could have been made bigger still. Unbeliveable really!

mint garage that is,i did one at my last house and it was a good size for a single car or two at a push, out of sectional concrete by this company http://www.nucrete.co.uk/Apex-Roof-Garages.htm http://www.nucrete.co.uk/nucretebrochure.pdf
this was mine http://www.nucrete.co.uk/images/Scan10007.JPG only it was wider and longer@ 16 ft wide and 21.5 ft long.
after i got mine the next door neighbour had the exact same one and so did 2 mates as they are well cheap if anyone wants a quality cheep garage,i had a cracking concrete base my landscaping mate did with me and then i alarmed it and put industrial electric sockets and lighting in for my compressor.buffer,etc. was mint working in there as it was like a small workshop,i then fucking sold the house .
i reckon if i did the big lad garage that geoff has done my neighbours would kick fuckin off so i'm after a plot of industrial land to build my own workshop which i'll get from nucrete.

Thats the kind of size garage id like (not at this house though) but with enough hieght to fit a ramp in at the far end and storage in loft space around lift well.

At first I thought it was hideous and in a bad place. However, looking at the second lot of pictures I'm thinking it's awesome.

I'd be tempted to build a wall along the boundary at the side between the two houses and fit a gate at the side of the house. Just a bit of extra security and keep prying eyes out.

yea i want electric gates on the side i wanted it higher so i could get a ramp in it but planning said no hence the flat roof didnt need planning for it as it is neighbours ar ok abt ikt realy it sits a lot lower in the garden compared ti if i didnt lower the garden level hous over back cant see it.

i looked at sectional garages for this size it would of cost over 15k this cost me 11500 roughley inc all paving electric shutter door electrics and the painting in side 2 glad i got it done in proper brick.

my sectional was less than 2 grand,if anyone is in the market for a garage you will be surprised how cheep they are. plus i think if you mention someone you know put you onto them and say they have had one and so did ther neighbour and a few mates you could get a discount,i did lol.

i love these garage and pit posts,i would have a desk and chairs in that one for flogging cars at night from the back garden showroom,a lad i know did the same and had 15 cars in total on his property in the front side and 4 in the garage showroom, kept the costs well down that did.

Nice but imho its massively narrowed any future selling potential of the house.

i was thinking the same at first, but maybe kez and big g dont wanna move?

Id love to move into a semi detatched house in a nice neigbourhood with a mint as fcuk garage instead of a overlooked borin backgarden
