i'am after 500 bhp out the t16.i'am going to fit it to my coupe

spec is home made inlet [cossy chopped about]
home made exhaust manifold running a gate and gt3040r
fardon steel crank
steel rod ross pistons
billet one off cams with enlarge buckes[cam lobs hit the head due to lift]
bigger valves ported ect
it now got 8 injectors
twin plate clutch
thats about it

on hold at the mo as building a cortina up with a turbo but the coupe not far away

 

Some struggle to make 500hp with gt30.63 or even gt30.76 on a yb.
Not sure you'll see that with the restrictions of a t16 head tbh .

 

its a gt 30 40r rated to 600bhp run's a .86 turbine 80 somthing going to 8000rpm
cam's are good for it

 

Sorry thought the 3040r was a smaller rear housing .

 

to be fair its a bit of a miss match turbo, it has a gt40 comp wheel with a gt30 turbine wheel
worried about surge thats why i went for a big turbine housing

 

Wired up the VEMS wideband gauge and controller this evening and got that working with the Emerald ecu

we have booked a rolling road to map it
I have paid for track pass so hopefully we will make it
we are hoping for 350bhp 350ft lb, weighing in at about 875kg

After a successful day out @ Combe a list of things that still require work

Cooling system is barely adequate
Bonnet vents are needed
Brakes worked well but not amazing and discs are fubar
Adjustable top mounts up front
Need to tame the torque steer, so equal length drive shafts and corsa b power steering
Rear strut brace
Replace camshafts and cam timing
Slicks

Then more power me thinks

 

have you got an uprated diff of any kind in the box?
seem to have a fair bit of grunt on the straights

 

Diff is a standard Rover 220 turbo Torsen type A, if money allows we'll change to a Gripper

 

i really have allways fancied one of these, what are spares like to geta hold of eg service parts etc

 

Hard to say as there is very little left of the car that is original

 

when is the next outing???

We was out in the wagon today

Went to Merlins, busiest i have ever seen combe, over flow car park and traffic lights for people to cross, was mental, shame we was only there for 7 mins
