Default Ka Project - Painting

Hi all ,

Recently Ive been doing a bit of work to my ka ,and its looking a bit sorry for itself ,it was recently painted jet black using 2k paint ,and to be fair looks an absolute mess !! Im so tempted to sell it but I just cant lol

Anyways ,i've stripped the car down ,all interior out ,all the glass is out ,basically everything I dont want paint on is removed

Im going to repaint it with a generic colour called "pure silver" which is a high gloss cellulose paint,it was £75 off ebay for 2.5L Paint,2.5L Primer,5L High Gloss Thinners,so cheap enough . Ive started sanding the car down ,but need to know ,do I need to use an isolator so that the new cellulose wont react with the old 2k gloss ? Or is it just a case of rub down ,prime it up,then paint ?

The car will be painted by myself ,as I have all the equipment and a decent gun . The car wont be bear metalled though ,it will be rubbed down quite a bit so get through as much as that 2k shite paint as I can.

I also plan on getting pics up of the various stages I go through with the car

Any Help Lads?
Cheers

i would use an isolater, bar coat before u put celly on as the celly thiners eat into the 2pack m8,will stop all reactions then! not espensive either

aye ,thats what I was thinking about ,using barcoat have seen and heard about it from a few people ,whats the deal with it? do I just take the shine off the 2k paint , spray the barcoat on ,wait til it dries then apply primer ,wet sand it back ,then paint as usual?

wheres cheapest to get it online would you say? and is a litre adequate enough to cover a KA exterior? cheers buddy
