Default 1964 mk1 cortina

right brought this a few months and thought it was about time i did a project thread

it drove straight up on the recovery truck

first job was to strip the wings off

then i took the odl 1200 engine out

then i had to remove the chassis bar in the tunnel and widen the tunnel ready for the new engine and gearbox

then i craned in the new engine got it central and using the old engine mounts from the 1200 i cut them down and weld them up to fit the new engine

thought i would have a tset of the colour i have for the cortina so even tho the car is no were near ready for paint ,i just wanted to see the colour on thecar

right done a few more bits

cleaned up the front suspension bits they were caked in rust

What a great build this is gonna be, proper like home builds. Whats the expected HP figure?

It needs to be a STD colour tho, fully trimmed with steelies.

Would be an EPIC sleeper

was going to go standard colour but liked the ford bright atlanic blue so much i gave in in the end ,but i have plenty of time to change my mind lol

will be awsome mate,i was goin to put 1 off these engines in my sierra but the wiring put me off as i havent got a clue.keep the update coming.

got the complete suspension legs built and fitted back on the car

what are you going to do for suspension and the brakes?

i think some mini lights or 4 spoke revolutions would look top on that

fronts are uprated dampers and rears are gaz adjustable dampers,brakes i havnt decided hence why the standard discs are back on for the mo
