re-shell/resto/project!!
finally decided 2get sum pics on of the work and progress so far on my little project!
still a long way 2go tho but its been keeping me very busy the last wee while!
let me no what use guys think!

f**k! once i figure out how 2get pictures on again! lol!
ok i got it! this isnt the original pic i took but 1i took recently once i had started stripping the car!
this is what happens when lamp posts jump out on roundabouts! (plus with the combination of going 2hard along a straight road!)
this happened on new years day this year! wasnt a very good start to 2009 i mite add!
especially after havin had the car for 3years and loved it!

the extent of the damage was unknown as i was scared 2look at it cos i knew it was bad! so it sat 4about nearly 2months b4 i decided 2empty the boot and lift the carpet...............................
im guessing that most of this is the result of the impact on the qurter! mibby jus as well it hit right bang on the strut or it may have been worse!
no windows smashed.......
no marks on the roof.......
rear shock still straight........
rear quarter fucked! inner arch separated from floor and inner sill!
top strut mounting 7inches further in than standard size!
wheel was still straight 2!

other bits i found after i stripped it 2the bone!
this was the drivers side under the back seat! i hit the lamp post on the passengers side...............
again i think the impact would hav caused a lot more!
again drivers side door check! prob not crash related but still didnt realise it was there!
rot on the pass side ffront window corner! normal place 4the water 2gather!
and drivers side window corner where the door pillar had a split on it from when i 1st baught the car!
obv water getting in ang running dow inside of bulk head!
and this the result of that pillar split!
under pass side rear quarter lower window rubber!
its actually scary what u dont no is there! i suppose in a way im glad it happened when it did because of all the things i eventually found dew 2what happened!
stripped out the rest of the interior and the EFI loom as well which had full electrics pack including heated front screen!
took out engine and gear box and linkages,full running gear apart from rear lower arms.
final journey...................
fond memories! rip 3i!

cheers! yeh it was mint till i smashed it! altho i thot it was mint till i found everythin else! just shows u what lies beneath...............lol!
i have another shell altho not a 3i shell but a 1300 without a sunroof! boohoo!
pretty good nick tho and needs little work!
got more pics 2stick on as i go thru the work!
got the 1300 shell stripped already and doin the work just now so hopefully be crashing on with it so 2speak! lol!
i was gutted when i hit the lamp post like! had a tear in my eye! then drove it home b4 the fuzz arrived!

it doesnt look much just now but its sound! only surface rust and very little welding required 2the floor pan!
needs a new wing 2!
