Too many posts.. I need a life!!
fabulous work done!
The intake manifold looks fantastic. Looks like a modified MFI intake?
We dont have those in Canada.
It also looks as if the intake manifold port diameter was opened up a fair amount.
Can you say what size the port was opened up to? 36mm? or larger?
The cylinderhead work looks top notch as well!
Any hint of flow bench numbers? 180cfm @ 28"?
Cheers

lv the car m8 and you always get good power out of it but why do you still use standard inlet and exh manifolds, i no the inlet has bein portd with a cossie throttle body but why dont you use a larger inlet for more volume of air and a tubular manifold for better flow and mid range power? and is ollie's a 1.9 or 1.6?

Ollies is a touch over 1.6 liter,1.7 I think???And Tim use's std inlet and exh manifolds to limit him to 350-400 BHP,as anymore power and he has'nt the skill to keep the car on the track or keep ahead of certain white oversea's Mk 4's!!LOL LOL Regards,Micky

Littlebram,
The inlet you see on tims engine is actually just about as good as an inlet can get on a CVH. The fact it can be produced by modifiying the original is great because it looks factory! The reason the manifold is so great, is because CVH engines require long primaries, NOT short items like you see on so many modded CVH's. In addition due to the centre entry design with internal mods, we can make the air flow 100% equal to all cylinders, allowing us to keep individual cylinder EGT's very close and hence run these engines on the limit, with reduced risk of piston failure.
The exhaust manifold is a similar story, and give fantastic flow. We have no problem exceeding 400bhp on the stock manifold and at this power, the std manifold is still better than a fabricated tubular design, because the number of bends is reduced, an issue that negatively effects all fabricated manifolds.
At the end of the day you cannot argue with the performance of Tim and Oli's engines. They are both the fastest cars by a huge amount over anybody else's CVH engines. (Christian excepted)
For example we are now hitting 127+mph terminals on the qtr, whilst most CVH powered cars barely break 110mph!
Hope that has enlightened you!

Or is that what it is lol. Is your engine alot different to the last engine and what sort of compression do you hav. hav you look into going high comp for less lag. was thinking of dong it so it wud giv me a better start from the lights
was'nt picking at your car m8 just with alot of ppl putting them manifolds on now just thort you mite no somethink they did'nt.
redoing my engine and thinking of what i cud do
