will rs2000 4x4 rear axle go on standard escort

can anyone help, ive got a mk6 gti 4dr but thought it might be fun to make it rear wheel drive, with a v6 or escort tubo lump, but woundered if anybody knows if the 4x4 axle from a rs2000 will go on,

it will all bolt under the chassis as far as i know. from what i can remember from looking under one all the mounting points are the same.

IIRC 4x4 had a different fuel tank and a shallow spare wheel well, not sure how that will affect things.
