. Rob (Mk2 peachyturbo) has done a wicked job. I did get my hands dirty by helping him with a lot of the donkey, but it helps.

Well it's been over 21 months since i put an up date of how the cars looking at the mo, theres a link at the bottom of the post that'll take you to the pics.
Well when i finally finished it and run it in it went to JamSport to have a bit more boost and set up, Thing was Jamie found that the compression "that was supposed to 7.8-1" was down, around the about 7.2-1 mark. To cut a long story short it turn out the machine company that did the crank had given me back a 1400 crank that ment the pistons sat 2-3mm further down the bore than they should have
After getting a replacement crank and rebuilding the engine a mate sold me an F plate ERST with a knackerd motor, so my motor went into that and was sold on to fund a bigger and better motor.
Turn out that Ben (From Performance Ford) was selling his 1820cc Ferriday Engineering engine that he'd never fitted to his RWD Fiesta project.
So i bougght that with cossie managment in mind, engine was fitted and got it running on a standard 2wd ECU, then i waited from last Febuary until the begin of September 05 for a SECS S8 ECU, then a few weeks for the software.
finally GARETH T and my self got around to trying to get it running to find out that the bottom pulley (modded 1800CVH item) was doing it's job properly, so replaced that with a standard 1800 pulley as the S8 can run on a 32 minus 1 wheel as well as the 4 point one.
Just before Xmas i desided that i'd go for a coil pack conversion at the same time, which i have and is fitted along with the Lambda for the S8.
GARETH T is coming over this Sunday so hopefully we may get it up and running after a long time waiting.
Theres loads more pics at www.gingersphotos.fotopic.net
I have access to a PC now so hopefully i'll be able to get some new pics of it next week as the engine looks totaly different.

Well last Sunday GARETH T had a bit of a hang over so sorting the car out was put on hold until today. Gareth spent about an hour messing around with the ECU and laptop but the car would not start as it kept coming up with an error. An hour later and checking various things Gareth noticed that i had not put the plug on the coil
10 mins later and it was running
which was nice as i ain't heard it run for over a year.
Sounds awesome, all be it a bit load.
Gareth will hopefully get his new wideband lambda for his AFR gauge by next Sunday and hopefully it should be taxed and MOT'd by then as well so we can get it out and get some miles on her

Right, The New Engine Spec is as follows(built by Ferriday Engineering)
1820 CVH lighten & balanced
H beam steel rods
7.5-1 low comp pistons
ARP bolts
STD 1800 CVH 32minus1 pulley and cut down cam cover for pick up sensor
FRST big valve head
Piper 285 T CAM
Modded EFI inlet manifold to take cossie sensors and throttle body
10mm spacer between top and bottom half of manifold
803 green injectors
2WD cossie trottle body & TPS
3 bar MAP sensor
Cossie stage 1 (to be replaced) turbo
S8 management with coil pack coversion.
The engine does look a lot different than when i had the MFi in there. I've got a few things to sort, list being
At the moment i've got a PACE reverse cross over pipe instead of the of the pipe i had to relocate the ERST throttle body, reason for this is there was'nt enough room between the back of the rocker cover and the throttle mounting face to get the pipe on.
I've also got to get a 15 ish mm spacer made to go between the head and the inlet manifold so that i can get rid of the 10mm spacer that is inbetween the top and bottom half's of the manifold. Reason for the 10mm spacer is that the cossie TPS on the throttle body is facing down but was touching the rocker cover.
With a 15mm spacer between the head and the manifold the TPS will clear the rocker. And with the 15mm spacer i may have enough room to put the throttle relocating pipe back on, along with the RS1600i rocker cover.
Just chuffed to have it running again, sounds the nuts, But i don't think the neighbours will be impressed mind as it's a tad loud Wink Wink Wink Wink
oh, and it needs a chuffing good polish aswell.
So all being well i should be able to get it out on the road and alter the fueling a bit so that i can get some running in miles on her.
Sorted the insurance out this afternoon, Ł420 and they know every mod on the car which i was well happy with. MOT Friday, Should pass no prob's then TAX and drive

Small update,
I broke the car on Sunday
nothing dramatic, my near side gearbox CV gator split causing the CV to bite the dust, I've got a few spare ones so that'll hopefully be sorted out on Sunday.
There's a few pics of the new engine @
