Sunday i garaged my RST for winter season. Here in Finland winter is really hard. We have -25 to -35 celsius often. And lot of snow. And salt in roads So that is not good for old fords.
I have new headlights for spring and i will buy set of new indicators. I really dont know if i am going to ambers or not. Original look definetly would be nice. And i have 90 spec rear wing too, but i dont know any cheap painter yet so i have to work it out in wintertime.
I have problems with front brakes too, i believe the front hubs are fucked because bearings fit real easy without any special tools. Anyone knows are front hubs discontinued from Ford? And if not how much front hubs will cost?
Another thing is rear brakes which now do rub after hard acceleration and the fault is in rear axle compensators. I will get rid of them and i will install brake bias valve next to master cylinder.
Sorry my english.. i try to learn.
Edit:
I e-mailed to local ford dealer.
Front hubs cost 130Ł / each! :O

Hi all
Here in Finland spring is beating winter and now here is still about 50cm of snow.
I visited my friends farm yesterday and we count some things what have to do this spring before summer driving season..
To do list:
1. Front hubs are warped
2. Front disc are warped
3. LSD unit is broken
4. Fuel pump cradle rubbers are broken
5. There is couple of oil leaks (oil drain bolt in sump, turbo oil feed from filter)
6. Brake bias valve installation
7. 90 spec wing, efi rocker cover, mirrors and bonnet vents do need new paintwork.
8. steering axle joints are broken
9. Metal parts which can easily removed going to zinc coating
88 spec wing removed
These parts are going for washing -> sandblasting -> zinc process
My friend has done new brake lines and installed the wilwood pressure limiter valve. Do anyone know where i can get those rubbers for fuel pump cradle? I need those all new.
90 Spec wing & vents and mirrors (when i manage to disconnect electrics) are going to paintshop.
I will update this always when there is progress. Timetable is to get car running beginning of july.

Vents, mirrors, 90spec wing, efi rocker cover and fiesta rst intake pipe now in paintshop.
I noticed that fiesta intake touches the hood. Do someone have idea what to do?
Next thing is to break gearbox and fix that lsd.

Gearbox has been assembled, my friend assembled it. I think its fine now with working lsd unit. Water has been falling directly in the gearbox via broken speedocable rotor o-ring & engine bay washing. Next week we will install box in its place and i have to buy some parts for the car and try to assemble as much i can because i have holiday.
I bought 3 quarts of REDLINE MT-90 gearbox oil. Info & pic borrowed from Redline.
* 75W90 GL-4 gear oil (similar to SAE 5W40/10W40 engine oil viscosity)
* Popular in Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, VW/Audi, Lotus Elise/Exige, Toyota
* Offers quicker shifts, perfect synchronizer coefficient of friction
* Safe for brass synchros, as it lacks the reactive sulfurs found in most GL-5 oils that cause damage
* High performance gear protection and longer synchro life
* Eliminates notchy shifting, even when cold
* Satisifies the gear oil viscosity requirements of 75W, 80W and motor oil viscosities of SAE 40, 10W40, and 15W40
* Recommended for GL-1, GL-3, and GL-4 applications, as well as where most special synchromesh fluids are specified
Brake calibers assembled too.

Hi
There has been while about updating this. I have been busy importing BMW cabriolet from Germany etc..
But there has been some progress. I took old front lights & indicators out. New Depo indicators were so bad that i have to return those and get refund. So bad quality that i never ever would buy depo again!
Beautiful? ; (
I waxed car with Collinite 915 paste wax. Some pics:
I also got rid of the wheels vibration and shaking problems. The problem was steering rack. The rack itself was fine, problem was that rack was bit too loose. Little nice tightening and now it is fine. Car is pretty hard to drive because limited slip now working and even 3 gear it tramlines and it is hard to keep in one lane! ; I
Now the plan is get proper clear indicators, or mint ambers for front & side too.

Hi
I took my RST out of the garage for a little photoshoot.
127000 kilometers / 78914 miles in the clock
Solved oil leak in the sump and all vibrating problems, car runs now smooth. Boost is now 1.2 bar, 1.45 caused too much wheelspin.
Hope you like, any comments?

Very nice how the project goes on...
By the way did you get my email? I'm looking for the part number of the brake reservoir that you used since converting to non-ABS.

Thanks for your comments!
Next step is get smaller rear brakes for this car. Anyone know cheap brakets for 253mm rear discs & cosworth calibers?
