The guy with the 205 didn't have any lag, he ran a roller bearing turbo which I'm not but I've got a lot more exhaust gas as it's 6 cylinder driving the turbo, it'll be a case of suck it and see but that really does keep in the spirit of the whole car lol

I've spend a bit of time today making a frame and mocking up where I need to mount things
First cut a hole
Made the start of the frame, bolted it in temporarily then dangled the turbo
2 90° degree silcon bends going through the boot floor will go into the filter
Oil tank and pump dangled roughly in the right area
I've got to get exhaust across into here then back
I should have the turbo exhaust elbow and oil take-off flange from Reyland Tuesday, hopefully I'll get some time on it in the week

[quote=RUSSELLB1904;4039071]I am a big vectra nut and hope you know that turbo'ing the vauxhall v6 won't work at all. The rear bank gets to hot as standard and turbo'ing it will just keep melting the rear bank. The best way to get power from these motors and the cheapest is supercharing it.

Not bin funny but does it not say in your sig that you drive a turbo'd v6 vectra?

I've bought one of these oil scavenge pump (top left in photo) which will take the oil out of that motorbike oil tank (bottom left), the tank will be lower than the turbo for the drain.
Some (if not most) run a pressurised oil feed from the engine to the turbo then use a scavenge pump to return the oil to the sump, this makes for a neat installation as you can just mount the turbo underneath but I'm keeping things separate which means I have to mount the turbo higher in order to have the tank lower than it for the oil to return.
I'm keeping things separate for two reasons, firstly I don't know if the engine's oil pump is up to the job of sending a run up the back (and I don't want to stress is), secondly if the turbo goes proper tits up it won't affect the engine's oil supply
With regards to the lag, of the few write-ups I've found if the turbo is spec'd correctly there won't be any noticeable lag which is true of any turbo build really. I'm starting with 2 x 1" or maybe 1ź boost pipes from the turbo (for space reasons), I'll only be able to run 6-7psi on my setup for the moment so I'll see how it goes, I will however make room for 3 pipes in the footwell and bulkhead etc. incase I can get away with running more or for when I can turn the boost up and there's always the option of compound charging it with a little t25 to get things moving
I had a random thought last week too, if I could get some kind of drive from a rear wheel I could add a supercharger into the equation but that's a whole other can of stupidity lol

I spent a few hours on it today, slightly changed the design to make it easier to route the exhaust in and out
The turbo is bolted to the frame in three places, I'm going to put some bracing in tomorrow
The air filter, oil tank and pump will all be bolted to the frame so it'll bolt up to the car in one go
The plan is to get the oil tank and pump mounted tomorrow

looks great espically having a turbo where the back box should be!
i think his secret to no lag was to use small diameter pipes.
if these engines run hot as standard then it will be something to think about when you are turboing it , as even though you dont have the heat producing turbo in the bay, a turbo'd engine will produce more heat itself anyway.
maybe some type of cooling setup for the rear bank, fans or something.
keep it up, great work!

You are a legend fella! Love the mag feature on the car... very very cool work so far!
Turbo conversion is a brilliant idea - there are a couple of turbo'd Vaux V6's knocking around... and none of them appear to be terrible!
I'd recommend speaking to Chip about most vaux stuff - or comnig over on to Vauxsport.com aswell as here - deffo get some interest in the car on there.
If you need any advice on rebuilding the V6 etc then either me or Chip can put you in touch with the master (Specky)
Keep it up!

I'm ducting air over the rear bank already from a hole in the bonnet

Little update, turbo, intercooler, oil tank, oil pump and air filter are mounted, everything unbolts easily enough
I've got a t3 flange, some 2" mild bends and a universal flexi to tie into the original exhaust, I'll be doing away with the current back box and have a silencer/pipe coming out of the boot lid straight from the turbo
My welding is absolute wank so I'll buzz the welds down and get someone to do it properly!
I have about 12 feet of 1" and 2" tube for the boost which I'll crack on with tomorrow, after that I'll plumb in the turbo oil feed and return
The frame looks a little busy because there's bugger all room in the boot as well as the engine bay!!
