Up-date Time, im now rolling on 1 inch's (its all bout the vdub look)
well last week was a slow week really it takes ages to make small amounts off difference, cuple with the fact im wormking stupid amounts of hours it looks like my deadlines a distant dream more than a reality,
But i really am working with the attitude that if a jobs worht doing its worth doing right first time, so if it takes me another 6months than i thought so b it,
Any way on to sat, and a massive thanx must go out to xr4x4 and fat man scoop my lodger, i had writen the weekend off thinkin i would get nothing done due to family commitments, i arrived back from work to find my car out of the garage on axel stands with the usual drone of a angle grinder
This is fat man scoops handy work
the passenger side foot well is now ready for patching up,
Thanx fella although afer talkin to rich it turns out it took him bout 4 hours to do this,
As for Rich well as usual he monster on with the wielding
unfortunatly thats all the photos i have because just as i arrived n rich was to start on the passenger side the wielder Decided that it really had had enough, and spat its dummy out of the pram turning its self it to nothing but a paper weight, (turns out its going to cost over Ł100 to fix)
nothing happend sunday as i had the hang over from hell, although Steve H Xrmalin, and a very nice young lady who came with steve H, ive now been informed it was ellie)
Anyway on to yesterday,
My new stands for the car arrived, Big thanx to miller you a leg end,
i scooted home after work with the intention of taking a quick look at them, putting them in the garage and worryin bout them later,
Well that didnt happen, Lol
Within 45mins this had happend
,
After a quick brew i thought bout sticking the car back in the garage n calling it a night
Well that was another idea that went out the window,
The whole rear beam came out in just under a hour, was really impressed, with the only thing that screwed it up was the left rear coilover, the bolts managed to rust in the polly bush, nothing that a quick session with the hack saw wont sort
The dam beam bit me though, this cars drawn more blood than little recently
As i had gone down the route of pikey motorspot the car was jacked up using the engine crane, so the swift choice was made to put it on the stand asap
Although i did get a couple of shots of the underside, and all looks good
Happy day,
A quick removal of the last brake pipe, (in my usual style)
And thats it the car is now Finally stripped, (well apart from the loom)
The problem with removing all this stuff is where to put it all so the rear bean had to b stripped,
Turns out after takin the arms off the beam its all polly bushed and they r in mint condition (Finally ive saved some money) so does any1 have a idea how to clean polly bushes??
Although ive save a couple of quid it turns out on closer inspection my Drive shafts r FOOKED!!!!!!!!!!
1 serious launch and they would have shat them selfs,
Oh well its only money,
I suppose on a lighter note all the noise, vibrations and back lash isnt coming from this
Thats if for now, weather dependent this week the cleaning of the floor will comence,
And the plan is painting will begin on the 21'st of this month watch this space cheers

Well i was thinking about going back to bare metal, but i wanna try cleaning up whats there first, if it cleans up really well i will stone chip over it, undercoat, primer, paint then clear, the probelm with taking the car back to bare metal is once you start their is no going back lol

Thats how i did my 3i cleaned it all up with thinners on a rag on mine though the factory underseal only went about a foot in from the sills so i just used a scrapper and took it all off that way you leave the factory primer on so its not completly open to the elements the trick is get a short enough scrapper then it doesnt flex as your going along.

ive just found one of my pictures from when i was doing mine as you can see the sealer didnt go all the way to the middle of the car so it only took about an hour to get it all off.

thats ok if the car is on its side, but kyig down with the car only 2 ft in the air is a bitch of a job to get it all off, plus 9 times out of 10 there isnt any problems under there anyhow, so its easier to clean it all up and key it then apply primer, stonechip to help protect more to give it a rubber feeling, then paint and laquer, ive doen all my cars this way and never had a problem at all
