Default HELP! Escort MK4 van conversion

Just bought a 1991 Escort MK4 van on a 1991plate (H). Was told it was a 1.4 but log book says its a 1.3 - looks like somekind of CVH to me.......

Any way, wanted to drop an RS Turbo engine in it - but can find any guides , so Im not sure exactly what I need for the conversion or how to go about it. Thought it would be pretty straight forward......

Can anyone help??

The guy that owned it before reckonned he was going to drop an rS2000 lump in because the engine in the van has not got a dissy...... thought this would be more difficult???

Any ideas or advise?

Many thanks - Mark

sorry mate i dident mean to come across as rude looking back at my post i can see how you took it good luck tho i cant see how the previous owner was going to put an rs 2000 lump in it just because the engine in it does not have a dizzy none of the cvh loom will plug up to the rs engine any way but you new this of corse

Good project always liked the idea of a RS turbo van.

This is a straight forward conversion as it will all bolt straight in the only part that may be a bit of a headache is the wiring but there is a company called the RS Centre that sell a RS Turbo conversion loom if you dont fancy doing the wiring yourself, i have never used one but sounds like it might make the jod easier.
I mate of mine did have a complete but rusty S2 for sale a couple of weeks ago that is running around 170bhp that wasnt alot of money could find out more if your interested.

Just been having a browse and thought about possibly going for the ZVH option. Has anyone got any experience with this type of conversion???

if ur starting from scratch u should go for zetec turbo and management unless you intend to use RST mfi system then just stay 1600 cvh

zvh is cool if u already have tuned engine and want more displacement
