I had thought about 1 colour, but i saw a Mk2 this colour a while ago with a colour coded XR2 kit and it looked a bit to much. I might try one when i paint the inside of the car just to have a look.
Thanks for the possitive comments

Well i've been busy again, started on fitting the passenger arches
Front fitted ready for fibre glass filler so that it fits properly
Before the rear can go on i had to sort out the quarter pannel where i welded the filler cap over and a small repair on the bottom rear corner.
Also the boot fitting pics, the hindges on the boot where 37mm to narrow so had to remove 1 bolt from each hindge and drill a new fixing point on both sides
drivers side
passenger side
the boot above the rear lights needed extending by 8mm both side to get it to line up with the 1/4 panel
Should have the rear arch on by the weekend and have the fibreglass filler started.
Oh and one of the new welding mask i got a few weeks back

Small update time.
I've managed to fibreglass filler the front left arch, tried to get a pic of the full front of it but i only have about 3 foot of room in front of the car so took 1 of each side
Rear awiating fibreglass filler
and the quarter sorted
It's getting there slowly. Need to get some cage tube ordered, fucking expensive :-(

Well the passenger arches are now finished, I know that they look like a lot of work but to have them easily removable (6 small nuts) it was defo worth it.
Here some pics
fronts
rear
Front arch metal before and after
Next on the list is to try and get the front valence done, weld up the holes for the rear fog light as i'm changing the drivers side reverse light to a fog (will save a bit more weight), Cut out and replace the rear turrets ready for rear coilovers. plus finish the cage off

Been almost 4 months since i last updated this, this is due to not having touched the car due to other commitments i.e my 400 square metre garden.
Well i've been doing some shopping the last few weeks and bought one of these, with a hydrolic clutch pedal
I priced a universal one up a while back and it was around the Ł600 mark, thsi is a floor mount item designed for the Mk1&2, was supposed to be Ł524 but OBP emailed me about an offer and it was Ł419 bargain. At the same time i bought a set of eccentric adjustable universal top mounts aswell,
I went for the hydrolic clutch as i was addiment that i was going the hydrolic route, so today i went and pick this up local to me (not the black one )
That'll be an ST170 Getrag 6speed box, came complete with both shafts, out CV's, cable shift and a clutch and dualmass flywheel. I'm not going to use the flywheel or clutch but it'll help with moc up and figuring out what i can and can't use.
As you can see in the pic compared to the BC box it much more compact. I took some measurement to help out other people.
block face to inner wing side:-ST170 = 325mm BC = 385mm (5th gear part is 35mm so 4 speed would be 350mm (nice for the Mk1 boys who have limited space compare to the Mk2's)
front top back ST = 480mm BC = 485mm.
Looks like it's gonna fit quite nicely
More soon

Small update on the gearbox front, I need to buy 2 new mounts for the box so thought i'd have a look at what sort of room was there before spending more money so i boled the box to a sapre cvh block and pulled it up into the bay mounting the drivers side mount to get an idea of where it will sit etc, it's amazing how much room the is between the end of the box and inner leg. Only issue i can see is where the shifter cable fix to the box it's quite close to the steering rack, but saying that i need to look at a focus to see how the box is supposed to sit i.e does the vertical point thread on the box mount point vertical or off vertical.
Anyway heres a few pics i took.
And in the bay
close to steering rack
Now I know it will fit I need to get a top mount and the rear steady bar, I'll probably just get a 2nd hand pair of standard mounts for now as the uprated ones are over Ł250 for the pair :-(:-(:-(
more up dates soon

Bit of an update,
After looking for a 2nd pair of mount i decided to keep my Ł15-Ł20 for a top mount and just splashed out on a Vibratech mount which turned up last week, the lower mount is just a standard item that will have the bushes replace at a later date for some poly items.
1St off was the top mount, after making up a few cardboard templates i cut out 2 plates and got them welded in, then with the mount bolted to the box i used 2 pair of mole grips to hold it place til i fitted some bolts.
With that done and waiting on a lower mount i fitted the gearstick and cables.
After picking the lower mount i fitted it to the box to have a look whats needed to bolt it to the car.
Now this is the puzzler, if you look at the pic's above you can see it's miles away from anything, So after looking back throught Luca's Mk3 project and seeing that his is just bolted through the lower sub frame i started just trying things out that may work.
Looks like i'm gonna have to make some sort of subframe, But it will have to be level with the bottom of the lower mount rather than level with the top as in the pictures due to the exhaust, where the steel bar is in the pics is no good as its right in line with the exhaust route.
The other option is make and weld a sort of box coming off the floor/bulkhead with a thread welded into it to bolt it to.
Thanks for looking

Any updates on mounting the 6 speed getrag? I just picked up a complete Focus SVT (basically an ST170 to you) with supercharger kit and was planning on swapping it all with the 6 speed into my US mk1 Fiesta. Looks like the lower gearbox mount is the trick.

Yea already started a build thread there, http://www.xrtwo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=97807
Good write up so far though, it will definitely help me with my swap! Thanks!
