ford fiesta rs turbo, small update 3/1/11
i bought a black fiesta rs turbo off fiesta turbo its got a good spec and only needs a gearbox and 2 sills full service history
plans 4 it
get all the rust fix
full respray
black dash
16"alloys white
new headlights and spots
intercooler
thats it 4 now only have 1 pic of it when we were getting it

put gearbox in it the day was great until the clutch started to slip the clutch is like new but cant stand the power
that was ok till the brother was driving it a noise started to come from the engine
then i drove it started to smoke so popped the bonnet to find the breather had put oil out over the timing belt there was smoke coming out of it too
so i rang spec one engineering and he told me to start the car and let it tick over for a few minutes and take of the oil cap and if it dies out the engine is ok if it doesnt then the bottom end is fucked so done this and the car dont die out so it pointed to one thing the bottom end is fucked
the brother(hughy) sayed to pulled the head off so i did to find two small round matel things will put pics up the morrow and top of the pistons have small chips will get pics up aswell and when i was buying the car the man told me it had a stage three head has it fuck so taking block out the morrow and get rebuild soon asand get the head checked aswell
can anyone recommed good parts to rebuild the bottom end with?it has forged pistons

The cars looking well mate. i have a ash black RS1800 and it costs me a fortune to keep on the road, at least with the turbos theres plenty of after market spares, not so many for the 1800`s. i would be tempted to take off those wing mirrors for standard ones of a later model.

you couldnt drive one full time it would cost you a fortune
your better off with your rs1800 mate my frst had a rebuild 2k ago
and now the bottom end is gone
am putting zetec bottom end in it now far better

It Wasnt Me!
The engine wont die if you take the oil cap off...not on a fiesta turbo anyway, it will on an escort turbo however!!
pistons will have 2 'dents' opposite where the valves would be if thats what you are seeing, but they are meant to be there afaik, on ERST's anyway.

ok update time
bottom end coming this firday
got a ported head coming and ap clutch
engine bay getting painted on the 25th
i painted the inlet manifold and t/b
all that needs got and doing
sand engine bay down
paint block blue
clean the head
paint gearbox and drives
and what has to be got
samco or roose hose!whats the best?
t2 turbo
shocks! which ones?
701's if anyone has a set?
thats all i can think of for now
will try and get pics up

got it all painted last week

got my bottom end on thurday thanks to my brother(HUGHY)
sand blasted gearbox and arb and hubs and front brakes they just need painting now
got the drive shafts painted all new boots
things that need painted
sump
block
gearbox
brakes
steering rack
hubs
the thing that holds the gearbox up needs cleaning and painting
and the bottom pulley
thats all i can think of that needs painted
every thing mostly sand blasted the block was cleaned down with a brush on the drill
waiting on the brake repair kits and a few gaskets and a new dip stick tube and oil filter and water pump and wheel bearings
had a but of a fire on friday cleaning my gearbox the brothers escort cossie in the shed aswel but i got the fire out in time
just need engine bay clips now
hope to have her back on saturday
thing have been slow because no work but got some work next week

fitted cossie rims to see what they look like
few pics before it went up to get painted
oh tryed taking the 1/4 glass out
got glass coming for it now tho
parts for other head
flushed bumper
pics of bottom end
fitted my ap racing clutch aswel
drive shafts painted and new boots aswel
cleaned this aswel just hope the rest comes out the same
sand blasted those and painted them aswel
just gotta give them a clean and paint them aswel
ok thats all for nowhope too have car back this weekendspend the weekend putting seats and carpet back in itmite take the dash out aswel oh going too waxoil the inside of her and under side(clear)

sad news i left the car up to get painted and weld rust holes and drivers seat mount!
got it back saturday had a look at the welding he dont cut out the rust jst welded over itand nearly welded over the numbers on the floor just not putting it back together any morecheers andy
