Thankfully Seans company JSracing also came through and got my Lotus all prepped with new front and rear discs and pads, new uprated clutch and new tyres allround!
Not been the cheapest week for me I suspect

should be a giggle!! all that power to the rear and no weight!! Most 7 type cars are tail happy enough with 150bhp NA so i imagine this is fucking mental
You tweaked the handling so it is more controllable?? Ive driven a couple of westfields in the past and its night and day between one well set and one thats not.

They have big sticky tyres, are very well set up and have proper plated Gripper LSD's... you would be so surprised at how well they handle the power.
Also they DON'T make massive power in 1st gear... they are just toooo lightweight to load up the engine enough to make any decent boost!
and by the time you hit 3rd gear and are making BIG boost and power, you are fighting a loosing battle with aerodynamics!

I had NA westie fat bastard version as a sports car hire for a weekend and it was too easy to step out the back end even on average roundabout a light prod on the gas and it was snap oversteer and full opposite lock
good job no power in 1st otherwise youd be going everywhere backwards when the torque spike comes in id imagine
still, id like one day to own a dax rush they did with the YB and 4wd... would be a laugh id imagine.

Sooooooooo..... update time...
the new monster engine is gonna need some SERIOUS cooling.
So, the car is back in bits and back with Proalloy. I wanted a huge intercooler... unfortunately its very hard to get enough airflow on Westys. So it was decided on a chargecooler system... and another Turbo cooler as loosing the intercooler left a little bit of space for some additional water cooling.
Here is the Charge cooler pre rad and Turbo cooler being trial fitted. More pics today I hope!

Ridiculous fun! for example, loving my Lotus and they are awesome little things on track.
BUT Westy is a whole different planet of thrills and fun and a proper challenge to master!
